If I were part of the Iowa wrestling staff, I’d be thrilled to see Kueter working in the weight room and doing conditioning drills alongside the football team, but would grimace at the mention of him taking part in any live action or contact drills. Beyond just the injury history, from the outside looking in I just haven’t seen Kueter having much of a future as a Big Ten football player 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks. Had not read about any of that until now. Kueter appears to be a resilient and tough-minded dude. Hoping he makes a speedy and full recovery.

Since he wasn’t on football roster I don’t think he can do spring football regardless.

I know when he took his first year off (when he made his second U20 world team) he said he could go to spring practice to watch, and attend football meetings - but he couldn’t practice since he left the roster.

I wonder if he is rehabbing from surgery at this time and wouldn't be able to do live practices. Is there a deadline to roster additions and could he still be added to the fall roster?

Its been like a week since surgery, have to assume there’s some rehab right?

I just meant even if there was no surgery I don’t think he would have been able to do Spring ball. I’d have to go back and find the interview but I don’t think he can suit up until the summer at the earliest.

Thanks. I have a feeling he is going to give football another go next year. Maybe come back to the wrestling room sometime in January if things don't go the way he expects in football. Just my hunch with no inside info.

So what was his surgery and scary complications? Is it something career threatening?

They also burn a crazy amount of calories each practice. Gaining weight in season is nearly impossible.

Anyone know how Ben is doing? Hopefully he’s at 100% this year?
I don't know how he is doing. I feel better with Mocco backing him up this coming year if he needs a pitch count. Wondering, if 5 for 5 is enacted, then there would be no restrictions on amount of matches for freshman? Also wonder if the 5 for 5 brings in problems with both him and BK wanting to compete the next 2 years.

5 seasons means 5 seasons. No restrictions.

With the rule, what will become of incoming recruits? For example, would Mocco give up 2 seasons so BK finishes his career? I wonder if teams only address recruits for immediate needs going forward.

I guess if he can’t beat him out. This is still what OSU and PSU fully expect from recruits much higher than him. Plus, bigger guys still can use more development time unless they are a fenom.

Well, that stinks. We may only get 3 years of Mocco if BK goes. Any other weights that recruits could end up less than 4 years?

He's been training with Buchanan helping him prepare for Final X.
He’s been out golfing too. It’s a good sign on his health.

Mocco, in my opinon...has a world of talent...but he his legit 2 years from competing at hvy at the D1 level. Keuter was a U20 champ his freshman year and he got squished a couple times his freshman campaign.

HVY weight in college is completely different beast (my opinion).

I also think that FB has probably passed him by...he probably picked the 2 hardest sports in D1 college to try the both of...at the same time.

They will get 5 years like everyone else.

It will be normalized within a couple of years. No big effect going forward.

I think the hip surgery prevented kueter from filling out at heavyweight. He needs good weight from strong lifting. He looked weak compared to the top 5 last year. His primary focus should be on adding 100 pounds to his squat this off-season.
he should be working out with the football team then…. his career this far has reminded me of Matt Fields and Fields also needed more lower body strength….. I’ve felt for awhile Iowa wrestling’s strength and conditioning program needs an upgrade
