Any word on this new CBB video game?

Pretty sure it’s happening right? I got the old xbox one, this is a game I’d get a new system for. They made a CFB game too right? Haven’t played that yet either.

Anyone know a timeframe for its release and what systems they are on? Hell, I don’t even know what the new systems even are anymore.

Yes, I realize I could AI it or Google it but this board is for discussion. Hence the post. I could see myself getting lost in that BB game for like week if it’s as good as I hope when it comes out.

Used to wear out the older CBB/CFB games. Much prefer them over the pro ones, if made correctly.

Okay I broke down and looked up the newer Xbox. Looks like I can get the cheapest is for series X for like $380 but it’s got like less than 500GB of space. Is that enough for one game? Multiple games? I assume since they are disc free, you have to download them on the console?

Most games are under 100gb, bigger games are around 100-150

The series x is a great system

An opinion, rather than a fact - like how Xbox is superior.
I’ve always thought PS might look a little better but I like the games and controller on Xbox. Is the play station online thing still free? That was cool. Xbox live is dope tho. Just a Xbox man. Like what I like. lol

I think they have to pay now for service. I do like the Xbox controller and Xbox's integration into Microsoft beyond.

2K Isn't taking over they are just making their own game supposedly. targeting 2027. But they are looking to have "up to" 100 teams in it. it isn't going to be like the EA college basketball games we remember. I have no interest in the 2k one personally.
College hoops 2k8 was the best what are you talking about. Ea is trash at basketball games

They’re both trash now. EA, though, historically was the inferior franchise. 2k has a gacha mode and the myplayer mode is extremely P2W and that threshold to make your player competitive in PvP gets more expensive every year.

If 2k models their CBB game after the recent CFB model then I believe it will be success. But I just worry 2k is going to flood it with microtransactions since simpletons keep buying their games every year regardless of they’re treated.

Been an Xbox dude since the first one. I like the controllers so much better. They do look super good though. Like watching a movie.

That’s good to hear. So you would recommend it for I guess it would be like $400?
I paid more and its been worth it. Especially if you play games. Graphics are amazing. Plus you've got all fo your apps right there. I made the switch and replaced an AppleTV thing about six years ago and have never looked back. Also the difference between the older Series S and X is miles apart so don't get tempted by super cheap deals on the older lower tier stuff. These nerds are annoying but here's a look at the new Gears of War that's coming out and a good look at what the next Gen grpahics are capable of:

Yeah the 500gig drive definitely gets a little tough with games hitting the 100gig size. You find yourself playing a bit of tetris when you want a new game, where you have to choose what to delete to make it fit. Of course you can always re-download stuff and have your save data ready.

The real crappy part is how much they charge for detachable harddrives. I believe they have to be Xbox brand. And they arent cheap per gig. You cant just go buy a 100gig SanDisk for $10. Damn Bill Gates!

No it's not, scheduled to release in early 27
So 2K is releasing a CBB game in early 27? Is that the only CBB game? EA cancelled theirs? I think I remember the players wearing all the equipment to be in one of the games this past year or maybe the year before?

Theyre hitting $69.99 now.

A strong recommendation is because you've been out of the gaming "game" for a bit, is that if you do get Xbox, also grab Xbox Game Pass. Even if its just for a year. They have a couple hundred games on there to play for free at any time. And its a lot of quality content, too. Not just crappy old games. You'd have content for years to come and a lot of AAA titles go right there. Of course some releases you still need to buy, like I think all EA Sports releases have to be purchased.

Its basically just an add-on in the Xbox dashboard. You pick what you want to download from there.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: as we get closer to the release of the college basketball game, stay tuned. I will work on very accurate Kentucky rosters for every classic team. Probably everything from 1990-present. I’ll add every great team prior to 1990 as well. I’ve worked on a project for years related to this, but I’ll probably work with the nerds on this site to perfect it beforehand.

Damn. $70. I believe it.

thank you for that tip. That sounds really cool. Is it by month or yearly? How much is that? Do they have like resident evil games for instance? Loved those games too. I know they released some on Xbox I believe.

I think its by month and you can cancel whenever. But they have changed it quite a bit with various tiers of stuff. That part confuses me because theres a whole EA early access tie in, and then multi-player. Truthfully once I had kids I couldn't play much and havent kept up.

Looks like if you search on Google, you can see what games are in gamepass, and it seems to have like 5 or 6 Resident Evil games. Their entire catalog is insane for the price. But some games do come and go, so be careful to keep an eye on that.

Idk the exact logistics but basically ea had rights to make the college game but then 2k kinda took it over? Idk if they bought it off of them or what.

everyone has the rights, no one took it over. EA was going to make a REAL college basketball game with all 300+ teams. full recruiting, ncaa football like. 2k said hey we can do that too and ea said forget it we aren't competing. rumor is 2k may just make it a mode in the nba games since they are only getting the major conference teams and focusing on march madness and not career modes or anything. No real fan of the old games is interested in the nonsense 2k is making.

That’s really cool. Thanks man. So if you are playing a game and in the middle of it they could remove it and you are out of luck?

Dang. So it won’t have a career mode or recruiting or anything? That sucks. I’ve never really done that and was wanting to this time.

In theory. They dont remove games often and they dont usually remove ones that have a lot of traffic to them, but they do cycle games and there's a list of what will be coming off soon.

And yes, if youre in the middle of a game, and they remove it at midnight, you wont be able to play the next day. They did that to me with Streets of Rage 2. Bastards.

Depends on the game. Some can start pushing 200GB while some are more like 60-80GB.

I bet GTA 6 will be monstrous.

I'd keep an open ended mission to get an expansion card as soon as reasonably possible and in the meanwhile consider an external drive with decent space like maybe 2-4 GB if you have games you will need to swap and older titles can just run off that drive so you don't have to move them and bog up your system drive.

Oh that sounds cool. When does GTA come out? Didn’t they just push it back not too long ago? I bet you are right in that it will be massive. I have an external computer hard drive. Same concept I reckon?
