No, it is you who is false.
I was in the middle of all that and know what went on.
You have your opinion and I have facts. I lived it.
Ok buddy.

I was deeply involved with the JCPS traditional program for decades. The only public school able to recruit from across the county was/is Manual.

Hell, Male has only started getting transfer students outside of the traditional program in the last few years because enrollment has declined.

Not true. Male recruited bunches of football talent under Bob Redmond.

Known fact that Ballard and Fairdale recruited state title bball talent.

Manual unable to take anyone outside their feeder schools per one of their former Girls bball coaches while Make was able to take from Manuals designated feeder schools.

Bottom line as stated above Trinity works harder and has tremendous pride and support from their alumni and parents. That is passed on in school to their students.
I’ve had kids in both systems. No comparison of alumni and parents
support.

Now these guys get it right. Had a 3 peat in the 90s. Won in 2024

The Pleasure Ridge Park (PRP) Panthers baseball team has won 7 Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) state championships. This gives the South Louisville program the second-most state baseball titles in Kentucky history,

There are kids here in the southern part of the state that move from school to school and their parents didn’t move either. Don’t know for fact if there’s recruiting involved but it seems questionable. I know when I was in high school there were 2 players that were deemed ineligible because they wanted to go to a county school but lived in the city school district and the other way around too. It was a lot more strict back then.

I love how triggered Trinity people get when their unfair advantages are called out. HS sports is a sham. Even little Lyon Co from a few years ago had non homegrown talent, including Travis Perry

I always thought those Lyon County kids had been playing together since 2nd grade. Is that not the case ??

Pretty cool ... who was the softball team ??
Hopefully, their best kids will come to UK.
I’d say he’s talking about South Warren. They have a really great player that I believe was committed to UK at one point, but decommitted and is going to Florida State. She had 28 home runs, 99 hits, 110 runs and a .728 batting average.

They did but they didn't all live in Lyon Co. Basically an area all star team. For example, the Perry's lived in Princeton but the dad moved them when he didn't get the HC job there and got it at Lyon Co. People act like it's Hoosiers but they were trying to get the best talent in the area. Went after several kids from Hopkinsville but those fell through for various reasons

Is he being projected in the top 5 rounds? We need him on campus, same with Potanski.
3rd -4th round is what the CJ said in their article
His quote was that he wants to go the route that will get him to the Major Leagues as soon as possible.

Until they class all sports in this state I’ll never consider this an accomplishment. In no firm or fashion should a 6A private school with 1500 boys be in the same playing field as Berea.
High school sports have went to **** anyways with the transfers. Pretty much just an AAU travel ball system in schools now.
There's no question its tougher for county schools to compete with the private schools. The county schools that do compete have built good feeder programs from grade school up like Clark County.

My daughter and friends did have good run to a state title in soccer a few years back and went through all of the big time private schools in Louisville and Lexington to do it. But thats rare.

Clark County, in 1991, defeated Boone County, Trinity and St. Xavier to win the 4A State Championship in football. That was very rare, too.
Clark County finished 15-0 that year and was coached by Don Danko and Marty Joyce, both former Kentucky football players. A helluva team.

Defeated Boyd Co. 12-0 in final game.
Outscored teams 63-7 in last 7 games, with 5 shutouts.
Gives them back-to-back championships in baseball.
Finished 41-3 and unbeaten in Kentucky.
#1 nationally in MaxPreps TOP 25 rankings.
Man that is kicking *** and just dominating the opposition.

In Louisville, all schools recruit. Only private schools can actually offer benefits to the students. They can offer free tuition, better education, better teacher to student ratio, better facilities, better food, and enforced discipline.

Public school coaches recruit, sure, but what can they offer the student? Not much of anything

It's not the same playing field at all and the vastly disproportionate number of champions by the small percentage of private schools in the last 20 years proves beyond any doubt.
I disagree. The Govt schools offer FREE tuition to everyone. Trinity does not offer free tuition to anyone. The most you are going to receive in financial aid is about half....of a $17,000 tuition. That goes through a third party and does not reference athletics in the need based process.

Better education...yes. Better ratio, yes....mostly MALE teachers. Big advantage with boys. Better facilities? Not necessarily. Trinity's gym sucks. The football stadium is good but many Government schools, especially now, are better.

Parents send their kids to Trinity so their kids don't learn that a man can have a baby. They can pray to God. Tradition matters. School Pride matters. There are many reasons.

Pretty crazy:
Kentucky arguably had the top softball and baseball teams in the nation.
EXACTLY. No one who is a Govt school supporter likes to mention the inconvenient truth of 45-0 South Warren Softball. Also ranked in the Top 10 of the country. Oh my!!! how is that even possible? Is it their free tuition?

St. X is always going to dominate the club sports. Tennis, swimming golf. Who the eff cares about those sports. I can also assure you that none of those kids are in families that pay less than full tuition. X has a swimming pool..... Let them have that.

The entire argument about....free tuition is why Trinity is so good. USE YOUR HEADS. Every Govt school offeres free tuition. No questions asked. So since the Govt schools have a HUGE recruiting advantage with tuition...it must be something else.

Huge:
~1250 boys to choose from. Freshman football will have upwards of 100 boys. Most of whom have played in the CSAA for their entire grade school career. For the haters...that is why Trinity for sports is considered a 2500 student sized school.

Big: Government schools suck, at least in Jeffereson County. They are a place to escape from. Home Schools and Privates accept the refugees. Trinity students do not learn that a man can have a baby.

Big: Tradition and alumni support matter. If you put on a Trinity uniform you are EXPECTED to win. Winners beget winners.

Bad news for y'all. Next year may be the best year in Trinity sports program history. It will win 4 in a row in Football and 3 in a row in Baseball.

Go Rocks!!!

Ranked #1 in the Country by Max Preps.

Has to be the best Ky HS baseball team of all time. Back to back titles.
3 total.

I think Harrison County back in the 90s was the last. Were/Are they a private school?

Congratulations. Tough to win in Ky HS baseball. Lots of good coaches players and teams. One good pitcher can beat a top team in the playoffs.

How many teams did they play in that top 25? Finishing number one is impressive regardless.

I know they played and beat a team ranked #1 nationally in a tourney in the Carolinas. St John Bosco.
I think Ky has good HS baseball teams. Several would be competitive anywhere. Good coaches throughout the state.

Incredibly strong team.

I'll add something else to this thread that hasn't been mentioned in all the hate (btw, I'm a public school alumni not a Trinity or X graduate). Rick Arnold is one hell of a guy. I've attended several FREE seminars where has spoken to youth baseball coaches providing guidance and his time. He is extremely approachable and will talk to anyone, anytime about baseball or really anything else. I coach youth sports and I've brought a few questions to him on his approach ... everytime well received and a thoughtful, honest response was provided and only because he gives af about kids and their best interest.

Meh. As has been stated, many of these private schools, and some public schools, are playing by different rules than the rest of the pack in the public school system. It's just not that impressive when such schools end up winning a whole lot of games and titles. Never understood why such a landscape is tolerated, but whatever.

Well, the facts are they have the ability to hand-pick from the surrounding areas, which is an enormous advantage. I wonder why you're unwilling to acknowledge that?
Kids in JCPS are not bound to their home schools so they get recruited by JCPS coaches. Ballard coaches recruited a kid off my son’s team hard even though the kid was in Eastern HS’s district.
