I kinda view the flopping like some of the BS you see in other sports, don’t love it but it’s never been the reason I don’t watch.

The problem is have with soccer flops are that they will literally roll around as if amputation is the only cure for whatever duration until they get the call, and then be dancing and giggling 30 seconds after.

The flopping is still there but it’s nothing like it used to be. You can get yellow carded for flopping too much and if you lay around too long they will make you go to the sideline and leave your team shorthanded.

Oh yeah it ain’t great, but it’s just part of it I guess. Been a thing as long as I can remember. And the Italians aren’t even in this World Cup or you’d really see it. lol.

Can we just pin an “ I hate soccer” thread at the top so everyone here who is intimidated about their sport being inferior to soccer can share their feelings in one place? Note: I’m not saying your sport IS inferior. I am saying you’re acting like you have an inferiority complex.

I know the above is a joke. But people watch golf.
They watch bowling.
How about NASCAR where cars go round and round for hours.
And bass fishing or deer hunting videos where you're watching someone hide and wait.
People watch the Tour de France where nothing happens for hours, other than the top 2 or 3 riders might agree to switch places so they can draft off each other for a change.
How fun is it to sit and watch runners in the Boston Marathon, the Iron Man, or Trail Running videos?

And don't get me started on hot air balloon "races", C-SPAN, cooking shows, beauty pageants, dancing with the stars, gardening vlogs, and TWITCH STREAMING for 17's sake, where you literally sit and drool on your own couch while watching someone else play a video game from their couch.

I am not downing any of that stuff (except twitch), but there is no way you can convince me the "soccer is boring" trope holds any water these days. People who don't understand the game, I get it - they shouldn't watch, but it's not even close to being as dull and inactive as anything above, or most shitt on tv now really.

Not to mention, we are witnessing a legend in real time with Messi. This is like watching Michael Jordan play in an NBA finals again, or seeing Ali box one more time. This guy is literally the GOAT in the world's most popular sport. It's pretty incredible what he is doing.
