Should our guys live in Wildcat Lodge?

You do realize living together can be a double edge sword. On one hand it can promote unity but on another hand it can can promote hatred from be around each other too much.
Yea, I saw the picture of the lodge with that story and it doesn’t scream luxury, at least by today’s standards. I would move out in a nanosecond if I was making hundreds of thousands each yearWell whaddya know

Living together will always be best, especially in modern day sports where teams are only together one year. Gelling and bonding is everything in today's cbb.
We are grown *** adults of a wide variety of ages, & WITH FAMILIES. We also (for most jobs) don't have to work as closely together as does a sports team. So you tried to give a horrible analogy.
WildCat Lodge is not "a normal dorm". And just how modern do you think they are living off campus. I bet they aren't buying or renting homes.
I was just a regular student and didn't stay in campus beyond Sophomore year. In fact, I left the dorms after first semester of my Sophomore year so I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting some space, quiet, less shenanigans. and more independence.
If I couldn't have got into one with a semi private bathroom and had to continue with the barracks style one I wouldn't have made it that long.
There are only so many times anyone wants to deal with puke or even crap in the community showers before the luster dims severely.
They wouldn't be dealing with that nonsense but still.
Summer seems a good compromise and maybe Freshmen could get some extra guidance and supervision to help them to get on the right track but that isn't worth having a reason for star Freshmen to avoid coming here but then I have no clue what the competition is doing but I doubt they have mandatory living arrangements.
Juniors and Seniors especially with serious girlfriends, wives. or kids the shine probably comes off really quickly.

Most are millionaires now. They can afford to rent a deluxe property for 9 months.
There is a lot to be said for conveinence (Wildcat Lodge is next to Memorial). And for being around your friends and teammates.
You must be young.
I would expect less "shenanigans", more quiet goes on at WL, & that it has more space than regular dorms. I didn't mind dorms at all, well except the bathroom down the hall part. But if I had one with a semi-private bath I'd been happy.
I think it's very important for chemistry and team bonding to be around each other A LOT!!!
Right? Almost as if someone had started a thread by saying

Otoh ALL our great teams lived together and you would think that would be one good way to mold them into a real team.

Young depends heavily on where along the line but it is getting thinner and thinner on the still call me.a kid side for sure.
Our thoughts don’t count and shouldn’t.
This is solely a coach’s decision. No more or less than how practice is run, who starts in games, who gets how much playing time, etc.
It’s just another “There’s no I in TEAM” thing if Coach says that’s how it’s going to be—and case closed.
But FWIW, my own “thought” is if they can’t live together in a disciplined way, than how the hell can they play together as a team in a disciplined way?
Here’s the thing:
Facts are facts. We can use our thoughts, especially in discussions, to try and uncover the facts by tools like logic and investigation. And that’s useful and interesting. This board wouldn’t exist if that weren’t the case.
Saying “our thoughts don’t count” is meaningless unless you’re trying to tell us no one’s going to go running to Pope and force him to implement a solution if we figure one out. News flash: no one thought that anyway.
