Do these guys even attend classes anymore? Do they live off campus and commute in each day for class and practice? I dunno… just for the sake of convenience, if I was actually doing these things, I think I’d live on campus at the Lodge. It ain’t like the Lodge is some dumpy dorm.
Pretty sure it’s all online now. Mostly at least.

You do realize living together can be a double edge sword. On one hand it can promote unity but on another hand it can can promote hatred from be around each other too much.

Well whaddya know

Yea, I saw the picture of the lodge with that story and it doesn’t scream luxury, at least by today’s standards. I would move out in a nanosecond if I was making hundreds of thousands each year

On one hand if this team was as bad in the locker room as it sometimes seemed they were then maybe we were better off with them living as far awar from each other as possible.

Otoh ALL our great teams lived together and you would think that would be one good way to mold them into a real team.

Thoughts?

Living together will always be best, especially in modern day sports where teams are only together one year. Gelling and bonding is everything in today's cbb.

Expecting today’s millionaire mercenaries to live like normal college students ain’t gonna fly. Even the deluxe standards of Wildcat Lodge won’t cut it in this new era.
WildCat Lodge is not "a normal dorm". And just how modern do you think they are living off campus. I bet they aren't buying or renting homes.

I was just a regular student and didn't stay in campus beyond Sophomore year. In fact, I left the dorms after first semester of my Sophomore year so I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting some space, quiet, less shenanigans. and more independence.

If I couldn't have got into one with a semi private bathroom and had to continue with the barracks style one I wouldn't have made it that long.

There are only so many times anyone wants to deal with puke or even crap in the community showers before the luster dims severely.

They wouldn't be dealing with that nonsense but still.

Summer seems a good compromise and maybe Freshmen could get some extra guidance and supervision to help them to get on the right track but that isn't worth having a reason for star Freshmen to avoid coming here but then I have no clue what the competition is doing but I doubt they have mandatory living arrangements.

Juniors and Seniors especially with serious girlfriends, wives. or kids the shine probably comes off really quickly.

Most are millionaires now. They can afford to rent a deluxe property for 9 months.
There is a lot to be said for conveinence (Wildcat Lodge is next to Memorial). And for being around your friends and teammates.

You must be young.
I would expect less "shenanigans", more quiet goes on at WL, & that it has more space than regular dorms. I didn't mind dorms at all, well except the bathroom down the hall part. But if I had one with a semi-private bath I'd been happy.

I think it's very important for chemistry and team bonding to be around each other A LOT!!!

They’d have to kick my butt out of there. 🤣.

This dude is fantasizing of rooming with a bunch of teen boys. 👎

Another note: he's been sending me private DMs absolutely begging for bare *** shots, telling me to "spread the cheeks so much it burns." He says its for "research."

I think your mom needs to research your internet activity. You’re one sick little kid.

Another note: You’re not as funny as you think and should look for some help as soon as possible.

Right? Almost as if someone had started a thread by saying

“On one hand if this team was as bad in the locker room as it sometimes seemed they were then maybe we were better off with them living as far awar from each other as possible.

Somewhere out there is a developer who will tear down a couple of houses on Linden Walk or Aylesford Place, build two- and three-bedroom condos with luxe amenities, and rent them to "student-athletes" and their hangers-on for $5k a month.

Our thoughts don’t count and shouldn’t.

This is solely a coach’s decision. No more or less than how practice is run, who starts in games, who gets how much playing time, etc.

It’s just another “There’s no I in TEAM” thing if Coach says that’s how it’s going to be—and case closed.

They have the rest of their life to live in apartments/houses alone. I wouldn’t trade my college years for anything, so they should live in the lodge

But FWIW, my own “thought” is if they can’t live together in a disciplined way, than how the hell can they play together as a team in a disciplined way?

Here’s the thing:

Facts are facts. We can use our thoughts, especially in discussions, to try and uncover the facts by tools like logic and investigation. And that’s useful and interesting. This board wouldn’t exist if that weren’t the case.

Saying “our thoughts don’t count” is meaningless unless you’re trying to tell us no one’s going to go running to Pope and force him to implement a solution if we figure one out. News flash: no one thought that anyway.
