Bojangles has invaded Vegas, but they only sell chicken strips.I'd give up SC women's basketball to have The Thicket expand to the northern Rockies.
As greasy as it is, their lineup of southern cooking is impressive. The closest thing to is might be Cracker Barrel. When I was at USC going to Lizard's Thicket was as exciting as going to Denny's.
I haven't been to one since I was a kid, but I thought it was fantastic way back then (1980s).As greasy as it is, their lineup of southern cooking is impressive. The closest thing to is might be Cracker Barrel.![]()
Is that like Shakey's or a pizza place at the beach? My kids loved Po' Folks and were fascinated by the Mason Jar tea glasses.
Anybody remember Sharkey's Pizza?
Coastal place but I remember Shakey'sIs that like Shakey's or a pizza place at the beach?
The whacky menus were epic. They used to have all you can eat fried chicken & they had good biscuits. My kids loved Po' Folks and were fascinated by the Mason Jar tea glasses.

Cracker Barrel is a decent replacement if you don't have a good mom-and-pop meat-and-three place in your town. I tell people out here in Montana that Cracker Barrel is just the corporate version of "normal food" for us in the south. When I lived in the south, I hardly ever ate there because there were usually better options serving the same type of thing (in Anderson, for example, Mama Penn's). Now, that I'm out here, when I'm in Missoula or Billings, I eat there every chance I can to get a southern fix. If there was a Lizard's Thicket around here, I'd never need CB.As greasy as it is, their lineup of southern cooking is impressive. The closest thing to is might be Cracker Barrel.![]()
