with that schedule. the number 2 toughest in the country. if we go 6-6. they need to put a statue up for him.
I agree completely, however...

IU was 3-8 in '24, then they hire Cignetti. and go 11-2 in his first season. I doubt Cignetti's first-year roster would've been much better than Stein's. I don't know that for sure, but it stands to reason.

The right coach with the right system can work wonders. Fingers crossed.

Could this possibly end up being the toughest schedule in the history of Kentucky football ??

Kentucky's all-time record is 662-662-44, with two (2) conference championships (1950. 1976) and a CLAIMED National Championship in 1951.
Kentucky's All-Time Bowl Record is 12-11.

The University of Oklahoma is widely recognized as the consensus 1950 college football national champion after finishing undefeated in the regular season and topping the final AP Poll and UPI Coaches Poll. However, multiple organizations awarded the title that year due to the era's poll structures, giving a few other schools recognized claims to the championship:
  • Oklahoma Sooners (10-1): Consensus National Champion, AP Poll, UPI Coaches Poll.
  • Tennessee Volunteers (11-1): Recognized as national champions by several selectors, including the Billingsley Report and CFB Researchers.
  • Princeton Tigers (9-0):Undefeated and recognized as national champions by the Poling and Boand Systems.
    • Kentucky Wildcats (11-1): Won the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma and claims the title based on Jeff Sagarin's computer ratings.

I voted 10+ but probably realistically 9-3. Can't see us losing more than a couple really. AM and Okla. are probably losses. All other games are at least toss ups and we probably have the best coach in the country and comparable talent to most teams we play. This ain't your mother's UK FB. I look for us to be in the hunt ofr a playoff berth but for sure next year and then possible natty in 28. Sky is the limit. But for now I'll go 9-3/10-2

Looks great to me. If we don’t get Bama , I think we get Missouri. That may actually be the best going into the next season, a four game winning streak after a big Bowl win. Talk about some exciting football to sell recruits and the portal. Let’s go Cats. Honestly if we get six wins and make a bowl game with this schedule, Will Stein has earned every penny of his contract.

They had the right bunch of old dudes and the best Quarterback in the country throwing the ball to. I’m all in believing anything can happen though but that’s a once in a lifetime story. Let’s make it two in a lifetime! 😆. Going to be a fun team I believe and they’re going to look like a well oiled machine by mid season.

I went with 6 which is a stretch. Banking on fact that our program has so much energy right now, that they can get there. Really want to see a group that is on the same page, and won’t lay down mid game. I want to be excited again. I think this is the coaching staff that will get us going. Time will tell.

Agree. I think we'll get at least 5 wins but the schedule is so crazy I don't know where the wins come from.

Im going vandy and sc. I know beck is amazing but you cant just replace a guy like pavia.

Sc because we finally should not be self destructive on offense. That and qb injuries are the only reasons they ever beat us.

UL is automatic from here on. Hope they enjoyed their two year run. They might not win again for 15-20 years. I look for a streak like our Florida streak years ago

I’d go with this as well except, I think he’s gonna steal the Alabama game and yes I know that sounds crazy. It’s beginning of the year, and Stein’s Cats will be virtually unscouted and hard to prepare for with enough talent to compete and a down Alabama by their standards.

Bout what I had. Bama obviously is gonna be tough, Aggies are loaded, SC is good and have their QB back, I think we lose to LSU, lose at OU, lose at UT. Thats 6 losses and I think Florida and Missouri are coin toss that swings us anywhere from 6-6 to 4-8. I went 5-7. I won't contemplate losing to Louisville

With the crap Stoops left us with and the players who left I say we would be doing well with 5 wins. Year 3 is win I am looking for a huge impact from the new staff.

He got a very favorable schedule though. They had to play only one

yea, you can turn thins around quickly with a schedule like this. The Big 10 is very top feavy with 10+ lightweights every year. its nothing like a SEC schedule where even the bottom teams can give you a contest with the growing fatigue and injuries as the season goes on. People on here that believe the “right coach” can achieve a two loss season from the bottom exist in another reality. The nine game conference schedule will only make it more difficult. In addition Cignetti brought a team with him that had played together for a while.

I think 5 wins is most likely. 4 wins is very possible with the schedule and so is 6 wins. I think 7 wins is unlikely.

I hope people are patient, this is a program overhaul and it takes time to build something special. Most brutal schedule I’ve seen.

When I first looked at the schedule this is exactly what I came up with. Just hope we can win these and pull one upset off to go 6-6. But, I agree with exactly what you have at first look. Brutal schedule.
