Just wonder how he is handling not getting the game 3 start. I didn’t see him in the dugout or post game celebration. Anyone heard anything concerning him? I hope he comes back next year and regains his preinjury form.

I was curious about this as well. Would have been a cool photo to maybe see him giving Glauber a pep talk in between innings or something like that.

Like Chet Steadman encouraging Rowengartner from the dugout.

Gonna need him at some point in Omaha. Bank on it. Hope he’s ok from the mental aspect. That has to have been a bit of an ego shot.
It was probably a bit of an "ego shot" to DeCaro to see Lynch selected first in both the Regional and Super Regional. I really liked his response! You don't see complete game, two hitters all that often in College Baseball. Hope Folger responds the same way when he gets his shot!

Fwiw he was on the field after the game, celebrating when all the friends and family were out there, in very good spirits. Was more than happy to sign the kids' autographs, and take pictures. Told him we can't wait to watch him get back on the mound in Omaha, and he seemed real positive throughout the exchange. Who knows if he was feeling a different way, but he at least outwardly appeared to be in a good place. The young man has battled thru some adversity in his time here, excited to see what he can do when his name is called this week.

this!

I'm pretty sure he was in one of the highlight videos chasing down teammates in the celebration too.

Do you think Folger could provide some relief innings if he doesn’t start? Seems like some guys just don’t handle that quick change to go out in the middle of a game.

He’s very likely going to have to at some point. Maybe even the shift in role could unlock something for him. Last start (ECU) was positive. Maybe he can build on that in a different role?

He’s definitely going to be needed in Omaha. Forbes explained it well with Tommy we were better off going with our best guy in a 0-0 game then hoping for Folger to go 3-4 innings then hand it to Glaubner but at that point we could’ve been down a good bit. But I thought Boaz threw it well against ECU and he’s gonna be an important piece especially if lynch/DeCaro has a shorter outing and we empty the bullpen

Boaz is one of the pillars of the kind of kid that makes up UNC’s program under Forbes: team-first, selfless, & a great teammate - he will do his part in doing whatever it takes to help us win. Lee Sowers and Perry Hargett are in that same mold, as well as a lot of the other players who don’t get as much burn - it always takes those kinds of kids to be able to win it all each year.

At the end of the day, Folger will be ready when his number is called in Omaha - book it.

Boaz and his family bleed Carolina blue. I think he’ll be ready when his time comes.

Easy to say but the reality is more complicated. I'm sure Forbes has had several reaffirming conversations with him because you need a guy's confidence to be up if you're going to call his number in Omaha
Absolutely! I would think Boaz understands that it’s the point in the season where if you aren’t producing you don’t play. Hopefully he can help in the bullpen.
