Taxes. Where you register not where purchased. My son Tyler, who is in Virginia, is looking at buying a new vehicle that's available in NJ. What's involved in making the purchase in NJ, driving the car to VA and registering it in VA?
This. Bought most of my cars in PA when I lived in NJ. They’re used to it and can walk you through the processI've bought cars in Maryland as a NJ resident. The dealer charged me NJ taxes (not Maryland). They also took care of all of the MV stuff by mail and fedexed me the plates and registration.
So really no different than if I had bought the car in NJ except having plates and reg sent to me instead of picking them up at the dealer.
I dont know if it works the same for your son's situation given the states are different.
