Of the three non-SEC teams....Florida should have come out of the Troy bracket, TAMU or Tenneseee out of the UNC bracket, and well you can't blame Kentucky for not winning the WVU bracket that should have been UCLA.The committee set it up to eliminate some of us early.
Auburn and State were eliminated by SEC teams. Both may have made the CWS if they had played in other Super Regionals.I don’t understand the question. There were SEC teams that were eliminated by non-SEC teams, so no. Also, when you have a 16 team league, it becomes harder to avoid intra-league super matchups.
But Auburn was only beaten by an SEC team because Ole Miss pulled an upset and won a road regional. They were the 2 seed in the Nebraska regional. If the seeds had held, Auburn would've been hosting Nebraska. The only SEC vs SEC super regional that was set up by seeding was State vs Georgia.Auburn and State were eliminated by SEC teams. That doesn't matter. Auburn was eliminated by an SEC team. 5 SEC teams made the CWS and 2 were eliminated by another SEC team. State or Auburn would have won at Troy easily, probably would have won at WVU, and 50/50 at North Carolina. But Auburn was only beaten by an SEC team because Ole Miss pulled an upset and won a road regional. I think you should avoid matching up 1 seeds from the same conference in supers if possible, but the only way it was possible this year was to match us up against Georgia Tech, as A&M was lined up against UNC. I think that probably was the right way. UGA probably should have been #2 ahead of Ga Tech. But I'm not sure they really went out of their way to eliminate SEC teams this year. Ga Tech had a good resume against weaker competition. Hard to draw the line between Ga Tech and UGA without just explicitly saying the SEC team gets the benefit of the doubt, which is not unreasonable but I get why they don't take that route. But Auburn was only beaten by an SEC team because Ole Miss pulled an upset and won a road regional. I hope WVU is as good as their record and seeding say they are. I need someone as a fallback to beat UMiss if UNC doesn't. And it won't be Troy.Hell, no! We need to give somebody else a chance, even though they will fumble it the ball.
Who think Troy is going to scrub West Virginia?
I feel like we all should be pulling for UNC… because I think wvu and Troy are going to get bounced quick. Hope I’m wrongI hope WVU is as good as their record and seeding say they are. I need someone as a fallback to beat UMiss if UNC doesn't. And it won't be Troy.
WVU is the wild card. We know UNC is good. We know Troy is in way over their heads. We don’t know how good WVU is. They won the Big 12, but it was a pretty down year for the big 12. They may be pretty good. Or they may not be.I feel like we all should be pulling for UNC… because I think wvu and Troy are going to get bounced quick. Hope I’m wrong
