Does High School Recruiting Matter in the NIL Era?

My stance is no... It's a money savings for schools who need to save on proven talent. Desperate schools trying to hang on to their programs will still try to find value in High Schools, but as soon as that value is realized the kid bolts for the money. The big 30 schools will still battle for the 5 and 4 star studs, but they will also pay them way more than other schools can. I look for a Freshman spending cap with required two year minimum in the next few years if things keep going.

The rest go Juco or lower division route to show value and then get the pay day with whoever can pay them the most.

It's killed the college game as we knew it, it's semi-professional now. I expect High School to change as well.

Not complaining about kids jumping, make that money.... is what it is. I just don't think it is a sustainable business model as college money is based on fane base size and loyalty of said fan base. If you kill that off, the money shrinks as well.

Yes high school recruiting still matters lol. Green is the best corner we have, he's a high school recruit. Not only that but you build relationships when they are in high school and if they decide to commit elsewhere that's fine but when they decide to transfer you already have a relationship established because you recruited in highschool.

That's not filling me with confidence in our secondary given the NIL era LOL. I hope he is good and decides to stay when the money calls.
