Dominant DeCaro Sets Up Winner-Take-All - Grace's Takeaways
Grace Nugent reports on UNC's 4-0 game two win over USC. Jason DeCaro was the story of the game, but there's a lot more to discuss ...
Only 4 runs off of 19 base runners is crazy. We are incredibly fortunate that DeCaro pitched the game of his life or else the season would be over. Offense absolutely has to step up with RISP tomorrow.Pitching and D we got. Need to get some knocks when there's traffic.
Great question, Stankiewicz was very non committal on a starter for tomorrow. Expect either Diego Velazquez or Andrew Johnson tomorrow. I would think that most of their pen arms are available, including everyone but Govel from today, that includes Sax Matson. As the season is on the line wouldn’t be surprised if Mason Edwards is an option out of the pen.@GraceNugent what does the USC pitching situation look like for Sunday?
3 p.m.They announced the first pitch time yet?

He mentioned that exact AB actually. I asked him about executing two-strike pitches and he said that that AB pushed him to lock in.What’s funny about baseball is Gaines talked with TA and Grace about focusing on DeCaro’s 2-strike pitches this week, then the first 0-2 pitch he threw was a pretty poor curve ball that the guy drilled down the LF line just foul, a few feet from being a double. Then he barely missed a pitch the rest of the game.
I love the idea of starting Glauber. Keep them cold early on while we strike early on then if the lead allows it being in Walker and finish it up with Ross![]()

whatI would start with Walker and let him go as long as he is effective. Then I would bring globe in for the rest of the game. Walker and Globe have been our best arms all year so let them pitch us to Omaha.
