If you score 12 runs and lose…….

I agree with you. There was no reason to be negative about State’s pitching staff today. They were the picture of perfection.

Well, if we had made 1 outfield play at the plate out of 2 chances in the same inning it would have prevented some runs from scoring. Those 2 misplays ended up hurting big time and of course hurt our pitchers.

I can’t believe anyone thought we didn’t need 14 to win today going into the game. The trees are the reason they win so many games.

I’ll tip my cap for them getting to Valincius, he mowed them down early but they figured him out QUICK the second time through the order.

Our bullpen is totally useless though. It’s the check engine light that‘s been on since the UCLA game and now our engine is exploding.
Our fans are in delusion about Parker. His staff stinks. Nobody with girodos. None of these guys have been reliable against a decent team to shut it down

I think he did a really good job with the 2024 group. Stephen and Jurrangelo were really good, and Davis and Hardin made huge jumps under him. I’ve felt very meh about him the last two years.

2027 is a big year for Parker because he’s bringing the vast majority of our pitching staff back. There needs to be some noticeable development with some of these talents.

Fwiw, Oak has said multiple times that the huge jump TV took this year over his first year at VA is a direct result of Parker's coaching.

And obviously he took Bauer from unusable in pretty much any game to at least helpful more often than not this season.

I have little doubt he's a good pitching coach.

It’s not all bad with Parker but I think it’s fair to call it a mixed bag.

Look forward to another year with having a good that can close out a game. We haven't had that since he has been there and why we haven't been able to make it back to Omaha. Pitching has been one of the biggest reasons. His guys can't shut the door. None of them can. Doesn't matter if we score 20 if the other team scores 21.

Hardin and Davis had really good years out of the pen in 2024… well until the postseason I guess. Davis had great numbers that year until he totally fell apart against Virginia in our very last game.

Okay, name two pitchers from the Parker years that you would take over the foxhall best or even Henderson best.

I mean there’s clearly no one in the last three years on the same level as Small or Sims. I didn’t really imply there was though? I just kinda said we had one season under Parker where our bullpen was pretty good for most of the year, last year it had moments late in the year of being pretty good, this year we‘ve never found it.

Haven't seen it asked but if Georgia scores 24 runs in 2 games and win the 2 games by only 3 runs on their home field, Should they fire their pitching coach ? **

Funny enough, they don't even have one. Stumpy is their coach.

Back in the day, you could sorta tell a potential natty team by BA and ERA, to a certain extent. Georgia does have a particularly high ERA. Going to be interesting to see if a team like Texas can shut them down while taking advantage of their lack of defense.
