"In a release from the NCAA, the violation occurred when football assistant coach Travis Stepps had contact surrounding recruiting with a student-athlete from another school who had not yet entered him name into the Transfer Portal.

The approved list of infraction penalties are listed below:
  • One year of probation
  • $25,000 fine
  • One-week recruiting communications ban for the football program during the January 2027 notification-of-transfer window
  • 3% reduction in official paid football visits during the 2026-27 academic year
  • Three separate one week bans on unofficial visits for football during the 2026-27 academic year
  • A one-year show-cause order for Stepps, during which any NCAA member school must restrict him from communicating with four-year transfer prospects during the entire January 2027 football notification-of-transfer window
  • One-game suspension for Stepps during the upcoming 2026 football season"

If I was that school...I would refuse to pay a fine or follow any of those penalties.
100%

Don’t care if I’m little old North Dakota. I’d refuse to pay the fine, insult their mother and dare them to give me the death penalty. Until they fix the BS across the board and ACTUALLY go after the schools tampering, the NCAA can F off going after the peasants.

They should just ignore it , why weren’t they allowed to self impose their penalty?

What a fkn joke they don’t punish the Indianans . Ohio state’s Alabama’s etc,, literally if you work for the NCAA you are a POS in my book. I could give a fk who an offend with that comment .
Geebus you guys, at least read the story first before you start blovating. This case was handled through the negotiated resolution process. That means UND agrees that all the violations occurred and worked with the enforcement staff to determine penalties. They sat around together, sang Kumbaya and worked it out. Unlike Ole Miss, UND had the integrity to own up to their violations.
PS. And I'm not offended by a dipstick like you. Plus, I don't work there anymore.

That’s not the point Einstein . The NCAA is more worried about a North Dakota than a Michigan these days . And even if you worked there still I could give a rats *** what yo think. I would rather have a sister in a ***** house than a brother in the NCAA that’s what I think of the organization.

I

for the record I don’t have a sister. As for the record you think I am wrong about the NCAA?
For the record, I find you simply a blohard. Simple being the key word in the previous sentence.

Your history here has led me to this direct conclusion.

When the NCAA left Kansas City and moved to Indianapolis they became a huge bureaucracy that has no teeth. They have no one to police them. They knew this nil was coming down the road and they refused to look into the future and sat on their fat salaries and waited for **** to hit the fan and now they are trying to play catch up. Several years too late

And when they were in KC I don't think they wanted to spend money traveling to Miami to investigate. Instead they kept investigating nu

This was a nice comeback but Bo fan is correct and you’re wrong. NCAA is scared of the big dogs so they go after a North Dakota school that has no political nor financial clout

One identifies as a sister? 🤷
Yes, I was implying that one of his brothers was pretending to be his sister. Which the poster said he banged her in the ***** house. So, jokes on him.

I don't think anyone got it. wah-wah-wah...
