What a loser that young dude is having the freaking marijuana on him. Holy crap he should burn in hell for smoking the pot.

Imagine if they made tomato plants illegal or any other plant people like😭. And how dare that young man apologize for such a violent offense.

Love reading Alabama players criminal charges on the Kentucky forum. Just me trolling ....... Or am I ...

I will say he is dumb tho because all he had to do was drive 30 minutes in any direction and it would be legal.

Demon weed and the Internet leads to drinking and then gambling .

All the good thing in this perverted life. Make people pay $1000 a month to own a pickup, makes people throw their neighborhood in jail for not wearing a mask, and allow anonymous people to become influencers to buy things no one needs.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anyone saying he should be punished more breaking laws concerning marijuana than any other law.

As far as whether or not it should or should not be illegal is an entirely different conversation. I am not sure where I stand regarding exactly how much regulation/restrictions should be in place regarding it, but too many people now act as if weed is harmless. There is pretty significant association with worsening of several mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar, depression, etc.

You can certainly make a similar argument regarding something like alcohol, and I would not disagree b/c alcohol probably causes more harm/deaths in this country than marijuana. I have no issues with someone drinking alcohol, but data that shows how much harm alcohol related deaths/injuries are why I stated that I am not sure how stringent regulations should be... for anything like alcohol or weed.

My point is I don't think we should act like things are harmless when they are not.

I was just saying what I said because Jeff who I assume is a grown man past his 40s calling a young man a loser for having some weed. That's all.

Weed is way more harmless than alcohol. You can smoke smoke smoke and smoke some more and never pass out or kill somebody from smoking and driving.

Sure I can say some people don't get along with it well and it's not good for their mental. Most people that smoke it understand it's not that serious. I figured most people now days understand weed. But I get it. My Dad who is 60 still calls it Dope. So I get the old person stance on it. Smokin that Dope lol.

A joint is one thing. Over 2 pounds is another. That wasn’t his smoke juicy fruit, that was his big sale of the week. I’m all for giving a kid a break, especially if he’s doing something with his life. Don’t make him the poor little kid who doesn’t know better though. He knows exactly what’s up and he got caught, now he’s sorry. Wish him well and move on, but don’t act like he’s some sort of victim. He also had an unlabeled bag of promethazine, so he was either making meth or selling it to someone who was making it.

edit: Had I saw your other comment on why you wrote it but tomatoes? lol. That was a little far.

Idk man Two pounds isnt a lot. But again I did say he was dumb for having it somewhere it's illegal. But your right two pounds is more than a smoke sack. He's not a loser tho. And probably has a better life than Jeff.

My take hasn’t changed.

I don’t care if it was his personal weed to feed an ounce a day habit or if he was selling it to fellow students as a black market capitalist in a backwards prohibition state.

It’s a plant that is sold legally to adults at a store in half the country. I could argue if it was legal federally, nobody would need 2 pounds because the weed store is right there. But the south is gonna be the south and move 3 decades behind everyone else because it’s what the south does.

Prohibition doesn’t work. I’ve been smoking since the mid 90s and never had trouble finding it even in illegal states. Quality, however, fluctuates on the black market - you can get dank nugs from a grower or in my day brown bricks from Mexico that small like ammonia. Lastly, 2 pounds isn’t a small amount but also isn’t a large scale operation. There are much bigger fish than this dude.

Of course they’re sorry they got caught. 😂. I’m glad you learned from it. Hope he does as well. And you’re right, he’s not a loser, just a kid who made wrong life decision. He’s got the break of a lifetime so I really do hope he makes the most out of it.

I was sorry when I got caught. Also because I got caught. When you see real consequences sitting in front of you it makes you wake up and realize what you've done. Now there's career criminals that are never sorry. I doubt this guy is that.

There’s no angles here, I doubt anyway. I’ve been lucky a few times myself but do have a few hours logged in the old drunk tank. lol. This kid has a golden ticket with his talent, he can make a ton more money than most people working for a living without a doubt. It’s up to him. He can be a good story or a tragic one.

Didn’t read, but likely another case of:

“I AM SO SORRY (I got caught)”

"With proper completion of the rehabilitation program, Holloway's charges for first degree possession of marijuana and illegal possession of a prescription drug will be "set aside and dismissed," per court documents obtained by The Tuscaloosa News on Tuesday, June 2.

In addition to 50 hours of community service, random drug and alcohol screenings and a payment of $150 monthly, Holloway also was required to write a letter of apology for his actions."

My comment wasn't meant to sound like an old vs young people thing... it's a medical thing. Sure, when considering drinking and drinking, weed is harmless compared to alcohol. However, for individuals using it, the data doesn't support that it's "harmless"...even though many think it is, and anecdotal opinion/evidence is usually the worst kind. That's why we require evidence-based studies in the medical field.

Aw na I didn't take what you said like a old vs young thing but in my opinion I just don't find it harmful to my health. It calms me. Makes me want to read a book. Helps me from stressing. Just makes me feel better overall.

My old vs young thing was just saying it seems a lot of people that are uneducated about it or look at it like it's meth are crazy. It's not like a drug head needing a fix. It's just a plant that makes things better.

If somebody is smoking weed all day every day then that's a problem more than likely and will be harmful for their health and life. Probably not being productive. But I like to work my work week. Not smoke while I'm working. Then on the weekend smoke a couple blunts and enjoy the free time with family and friends. Just a casual thing to me.

I never try to influence people to like it. If they aren't a fan I respect it. But it's irritating how some people look at it like a real drug that can ruin your life like meth or something. It can if you do it where it's illegal I get that.

1977 for me and you are correct. Its nice to go to a Michigan dispensary and get it cheaper than when I bought it in the 80's and much better quality. Never slept better than I have since I started taking a 20 MG gummy when I go to bed. Screw ambien.

I agree with everything here… If he was so into the stuff, he should have committed to Michigan or Michigan St., instead of backwards Alabama… There’s a pot “candy store” every other square mile in Michigan, and he could get an ounce of 1g pre-rolls for $30😂 anytime he wanted… If he’s 21 or older, that is.

Lol harmless by their self. Do you know how much has to be done in order for that to turn into cocaine?

That's like saying you can't sell batteries anymore because you can make meth with it. Poppy plants are like 1 out of 100 ingredients to making coke. Maybe I misunderstood what you were saying tho.

I would think turning a poppy plant into cocaine would be incredibly difficult...

You'd probably get better cocaine using the coca plant.
