I am quite confident this OK 11 coach and team was kicked out of a tournament where I live earlier this year for threatening to hit an opposing player in the head (sound familiar?) and challenging the opposing coach to a fight in the parking lot. Assuming it was the same team, no doubt that prior played into the severity of the ban.

As this isn't my first rodeo, I can also safely surmise the NE team was yelling, screaming, and being obnoxious and bush league during the pitches, which contributed to the environment.
You heard all of the psycho parents yelling too.

Parents interaction has gotten way worse too. A close play at the plate and the parents of the team who didn't get the call go nuts. Then parents of the team who DID get the call yell back at the opposing parents.

This doesn't happen all the time, but when it does I just shake my head and ask myself "what are we teaching our kids"?

It is like I keep saying...People love to say "Kids these days". Nope

It is the parents!

I played rec-ball forever growing up and not one time did a parent get tossed, did a coach get tossed, did an ump walk off the field during a game. Nothing.

The game was at 6pm...you showed up at 5:30. You played catch, you looked at the lineup (I realized I would not be playing that game or any game), and my team (Something like, Pepperidge Farm, or VFW) would take on something like (Moose Lodge or Jeff's Auto Body Shop).

The game was over by 7:30.

Its not that coaches from Gretna and Elkhorn are any better but when you are restricted to playing where you live due to district policies/rules they do look better from an ethical standpoint when it comes to poaching athletes

maybe at the top levels, but certainly not at the lower or mid levels, at least not in the organizations and sports I'm familiar with.
What’s you definition of getting paid. Maybe they don’t get a “ paycheck “ but if you don’t think with some of the fees they collect from the parents they aren’t get their expenses and time to set up tournaments back you are pretty naive.

I coached for millard. Believe me, I never got a dollar. Budgets are put together for each team and submitted to the org. Receipts have to be sent in to get any of that $. I kept a pocket radar and some balls we didnt use, I guess.

Oh now you’re set for life! People that think these coaches make money are hilarious. I guarantee all the years I coached, it actually cost me thousands considering. Gas, field rentals, etc. Never thought a second about it. There must be a whole ton of loaded youth coaches just running around driving Range Rovers or Lambo’s!

Those pocket radars come in handy!

This is pretty much how it works OR you get a flat fee.

I know we have that super smart poster that apparently had to "rent fields" on his own, but it appears that the select club was taking full advantage of him, which makes sense.

I could break down the numbers for people if they wanted. But just camps alone will bring in thousands.

Coaches also travel for free, hotels are free, meals are free. Which I believe you stated too.

If it cost you thousands to coach (Not, you, I don't mean you), then you just now found out that you were not really "the coach" you were one of the guys that THEY let hang around, so that you could pick up a bunch of the bills. Because why not have some hanger-on pay for stuff.

A friend of mine has his team go to Florida each season.

It is a 4 night stay. His plane ticket is covered, his hotel is covered, his food is covered and that doesn't count what he gets paid for coaching that season.

Now if you really wanted to make cash with select sports. Volleyball is the one.

I'd like to hear more about the slut moms. Is this a sure thing? I can rent a kid to play baseball if necessary...
Dude, it is like a free for all of cheating and/or hooking up. The separated/divorced moms are basically just looking for some dong and some fun.

The married moms, the ones that hate their marriage, so like 99% of them (you can spot them because they are the ones that are in good shape and dress up), they LOVE to flirt and tease, once you exchange numbers, it is ON!!

Then there are the moms/wives that are happy but you don't really see them all that much, it is more of just an urban legend.

If you want to see "Moms Gone Wild" and/or "Unhappy Wives Gone Wild" just get a kid signed up for a select sport.
