I keep reading how Georgia's Field gives up a lot of long balls due to being small, someone explain to me what I'm missing here. Dimensions taken from Wiki

The power alleys are shorter, right field has a short wall compared to ours, and the field faces ESE meaning the wind is constantly blowing out due to a west to east jet stream.
Yep. It’s generally a favorable ballpark for all hitters, but its especially favorable for lefties due to the very short porch in RF and RCF.

What’s especially interesting is that our lineup actually might be even more suited to their park than theirs is. 4 of our top 5 HR hitters are either LH or switch hitter (Reese, Parker, Stallman, Frei). By contrast, 5 of UGA’s top 7 HR hitters are RH, including 2 of their Top 3.

Bart has talked about this. Our park faces Northeast. Theirs faces more southeast I think so it has to do with wind patterns. But I’m not a scientist.

Righties helped by the wind patterns and short power alley to left center.

Lefties helped by short porch in RF that extends from foul pole all the way to power alley.

The only balls hit that have the same chance of going out as an average park are a ball hit directly down the LF foul line, or one hit to dead center field.

They should also be embarrassed at it being turf. SEC should make a rule that this is not 9u travel ball and all schools will have grass/dirt.

It doesn’t matter if we can’t be disciplined at the plate, hit with runners in scoring position, and man up. Do that and who cares the dimensions. But I appreciate the info for the uneducated. At the end of the day if our bullpen can’t perform up to what they are capable of it’s academic. Parker had a good bit of talent and it’s not materializing. Our lineup and starting pitching (less so) is good enough to win it all. The bullpen has been mismanaged and completely undeveloped enough to cost us a natty. Bottom line. Here’s hoping they turn it around, but Parker should hit the road regardless if we want to win another natty.

Hey dude this is a thread about hitting home runs, not pitching coaching.

Hey dude, I’ll say what i want. Give an actual argument if you disagree. Our bullpen is not good bro, it’s gonna be okay. Don’t get in your feelings babe.
