Who makes it in this year?

Who eventually makes it in, if not this year?

Great pub for the U of I but I don't know. AC, maybe. Clark had ONE good year in college, same as Banks. I don't see how either gets in the HOF for college football. Clark ended up being a great pro, but this is for college. Banks Heismen runner up, but I'm sure there are other more worthy candidates over the course of a college career....Pretty much everybody on that B1G list would have a better shot then our guys, just IMHO....

Banks and Clark took home more hardware than Clayborn.

Clark: unanimous 1st team AA, John Mackey winner.

Banks: Davey Obrien, AP Player of The Year, Big10 MVP
No doubt, but those were one year awards for the ONLY year they really did much, (and for Banks his only year). Now look at the list of other B1G players AND remember that is only for our conference. Doesn't list players from the SEC and other conference. Lots of guys who had better CAREERS. How many guys get in annually? ALL of those guys were probably AA in college, some more then once.....

Clark will go for sure. Clayborn maybe down the road. Banks unfortunately had just the one year.
Really so did Dallas. Remember he was a 4th string walk on LB initially. Basically 40 catches and 4 Td's in the two years he played. Half of those in 2002 were in one game against Purdue. He left a year early as well, and passed up his senior season.

ya. I wouldnt vote any of them in for the record. But.....if I had to choose Clayborn would be last. I would guess the list of guys to start 2 years and make 1st team all BIG and consensus AA is more than the list of guys that have won the Davey Obrien or John Mackey award.

How many were Heisman runnersup? Banks played two years at Iowa, part-time the first year. And, as noted above by another poster, Banks was Davey Obrien winner, AP Player of The Year, and Big10 MVP. All in one year, but that's one helluva year, IMHO.

And he'll still get in the HOF......

I guess I'd go with Clark out of the three Iowa guys. I'm surprised Hardy and Rice aren't already in, poor Matt Sherman probably still has nightmares about that game in 1995.

Hardy has a better case than Clayborn. 3 year starter. 2 time 1st team B1G. consensus AA. Butkus winner.

Rice even more. good lord. 4 year starter. B1G freshmen of the year. 3x 1st team B1G. B1G DL of the year. 2x 1st team AA. Jack Lambert winner.

I'd say Clayborn for the Iowa players. Dude was a one man wrecking crew and had iconic moments in the PSU punt block scoop and score. Then rag dolling dudes in the Orange bowl.

Obviously we would like all 3 Hawkeyes added, but I think he has the best shot.

He PLAYED one year, and a games worth of snaps as a junior. Maybe he gets in. It was a poll, and I don't see him getting in but scroll through the list of HOF players and see how many make it in that only played one year of D1 football. Im fully aware of the awards. Look through the other players on that list who are currently not in. Lots of awards and multiple years as AA players. Even as the Heisman runner up he wasn't even selected as a 1st team AA. 2nd team across the board. 1st team QB was the Heisman winner Carson Palmer, who was inducted in 2021. That's my point. In a vacuum, sure he gets in, but there are many other deserving players.
