I thought it was very clear what I was saying but I’ll try again:

Do you thanks San Antonio Spurs fans, who went to Villanova, are rooting for the Knicks? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

It’s a question that actually has me shaking my head every time I open this thread.
Absolutely I would think so. I know 76ers fans that are nova die hards that now root for the “nova Knicks”

If you’re telling me that they would root for the Knicks over the Sixers in a playoff series I’m calling “********.” Either that or they weren’t big fans to begin with IMHO.

It’s the truth from my die hard nova friends. It’s temporary though. I started this thread bc I find myself rooting for Dylan over the Knicks at this point if it’s head to head. Completely understand why people would not. Was just curious how others are thinking about it.

Got it! Agreed!
I thought you were implying the opposite.

I couldn't care less where players went once in the big leagues.

If the Nets were playing a team starting RHJ, Dylan, Ace, Geo and Caleb , I'd be rooting for a 30pt Nets win.

I am a Nets fan who has remained a Nets fan after the move to Brooklyn. Saw the Nets play their first game in NJ at the RAC in 1977, so I've been a diehard for almost 50 years. I'll be rooting for the Spurs. No way can I root for the Knicks.

If the Knicks do win, I'll be happy for one reason: Karl-Anthony Towns. He is a hometown hero. He didn't attend PHS, but loves the town and shows it routinely. He's seen around town regularly and is always kind to everyone. For example, the day after the Knicks knocked off the Cavs in Cleveland, he was at the Piscataway Little League fields signing autographs and posing for photos with the players.

Here's a photo of 13-year-old me with Bernard King in October 1977. You can tell King was super-excited to meet me.

Then they’re not true Sixers fans. I’m a bigger college basketball fan than I am NBA, always have been and always will be, but I would never in my life think of rooting for a single NVA player or even three over my NBA team. Never.

(I get your reason for the thread now, crazy, but I get it….. still don’t think you would ever see this on another school‘s message board but I guess that’s just my opinion)

I am not a fan of the NBA game, but I did throw down $10 for Dylan to win the series MVP. Why not? Gives me something to look into when I typically would not even bother. Plus, if it were to happen I am in to win $2,000. Let’s go 2!!!!

Harper to average 25, Wemby to just have an awful series…Knicks all the way.

the way I see the series- if Knicks win game 1 the win it in 5.
Knicks lose game 1, it goes 7 games. No idea if they pull it off or not.

I’m sure Dylan will have a long, successful and lucrative career, but I’m never really going to root for him in any situation. He didnt accomplish anything at Rutgers. I feel the same way about Ace. They were part of the most disgraceful season in Rutgers basketball history

You need to go find another school to root for

I’m not going to root for Rutgers football and basketball like is used to in the NIL world that we are in. I’ll root for Ron Harper Jr because he’s a true Rutgers basketball legend. His brother is not. So I won’t care

Another great game. Dylan Harper played really well and the Spurs lost again at home. Not quite superstar stats, but Harper certainly played a good game. As a Rutgers and fair weather Knicks fan, best result possible.

If I were a Knicks fan, there is no question that I would root for the Knicks, no matter how many former Rutgers players were on the Spurs

But I'm not a Knicks fan, so I am rooting for Harper and the Spurs. Harper is playing very well. Unfortunately, it looks like the Knicks are a better team, or at least more composed under pressure. With a couple days off, we'll see if the Spurs can rally.

As a Rutgers fan, I think the best possible result is for Harper to play well and for the Knicks to win anyway. As a fair weather Knicks fan, the Knicks winning is just icing on the cake.

Dylan huge mistake under two mins when he left Brunson after he inbounded and ball went right back to Brunson for the layup, was critical and rookie mistake, love it!

Rigged
Try to cheat
Embarrassing officiating
Conspiracy theorist proved correct

AND THE KNICKS STILL WON
Been watching hoops long time. I'm the first to get on anybody blaming refs after games. But for game that physical and Knicks got to line how many times? Don't even count OG 3 free throws because Brothers ignored that foul and was standing right next him. Disgusting.

Was more gross is announcing crew glossing over or not even mentioning some plays: blatant double dribble in first half not called led to three pt play. What looked to be goaltending in second half and not even a replay. The ******** tech on Mitch.

Nevermind the other in game crap and Brunson playing with Castle hanging on his arms all game long.

Two bull sh*t fouls on Kat took him out of game.

Kornet pulled that ball to himself with foot and not even a review in crucial spot.

Makes you wonder

I am a Knicks fan so you are obviously an idiot!

Kidding, kidding. It’s good to see you post here!
