The great Colts receiver has passed away. Made a living catching every ball from Johnny U along the sidelines.
Never dropped a pass. RIP Raymond.

Damn. Another one of the all-time greats is gone.

True, but I remember what Mike Francesa said on his show when Yogi Berra passed:

"You know when the first digit of the age when someone has passed is a "9" it should be as much as celebration as a remembrance."

Remember him well and will always be one of the greatest NFL WRs to play the game, in my mind.
His hands and route running were a sight to see , speed wasn't important with the talent he had

As a kid playing the game he was an inspiration to those of us not blessed with outstanding speed, but route running skill and great hands.

Sounds like the way I played the game, caught what was thrown, but in slow motion .:D

Don't forget Alan "the Horse" Ameche who broke every Giant fan's heart in 1958 and was a one of the best NFL FBs when he played with Berry in Baltimore

I knew I'd forget 1 or 2. That was a big miss.

But hey, it was over 60 years ago.🤷‍♂️

Super guy. Patriots training camp took place near me when I was kid and Ray was coach. Ray held many open practices in summer for kids to attend. Ray rode around on golf cart and would chat and sign autographs with fans.

Ray got young fans psyched about football and the Patriots.

Ray allowed Patriots players to play basketball against teams of local school district gym teachers at the local high school gym and the players would sign autographs after the game.

Yes indeed. And as Madhat1 said Ameche. You couldn't block Marchetti off the end. You couldn't run at him or around him.
