Schedule drops on Thursday, but hearing rumors Bears could play Seattle in the first game of the season on a Wednesday. Also heard Bears could be Bills week 1 opponent as they open their new stadium.

Because they had a good overall record in 2025, and because each team in the NFC North had a winning record, the Bears have been rewarded for 2026 with the toughest schedule in the NFL. Statistically, this means they should have a worse record next year, and probably a losing record.

But the season isn't decided by a computer, they play games ya know! And everyone is hurt by week 3.

It may appear to be tough based on last year's results. I realize that is the only way to determine the strength of the schedule. But there will always be teams that end up being worse than expected and those that turn out to be better. It does appear to be tough.

But you know the old saying" If you want to be the best...."

Much better to use this which is based on win projections for this year and takes into account teams offseason moves.

Especially that ATL road game. I know a lot of fans planning on making the trip.
I can see that, but for me depending on when in the year they end up happening, if I were going to a road game I think I'd rank going to Seattle or Buffalo over Atlanta.

For sure but lots of transplant Chicagoland folks down in ATL. To be fair, you can say that about a lot of places.
Bears fans travel extremely well no matter where the game is played though, could be on the moon and a ton would be there.

If I was to go to a Bears road game this year it would definitely be in Buffalo.
Potentially. Would love to see their new stadium, but not sure I'd go in December with the weather and the risk of Potentially getting stuck there for a few extra days if a storm rolls through.

Something tells me this is far from over.
I am not sure the Bears are really serious about IN. We will see what happens.
I can't see them waiting until the fall when Illinois is back in session. Especially with Indiana giving them everything they want. I have no doubt they want to stay in Illinois, but Illinois doing Illinois things is forcing the Bears hand.

It is a mess, they both fumbled this badly.
If I'm George, what has Warren done to help this situation? It's obvious the Bears WANT WANT WANT to build at AH, Warren has done nothing but make it more difficult. He is way out of his league in IL. Warren has not listened to lobbyist they hired apparently, Bears allegedly did not lobby individual lawmakers just talked with Buckner/JB...come on that is not how this is done.

And someone is lying here; Chicago says Bears have reached out to them over past few months and Bears say no they didn't Chicago is not an option. Almost like the city sabotaged AH since they stand to get more hotel stays if they go to Hammond. Folks will stay in city instead of Hammond but more likely to stay in AH/O'Hare/Schaumburg if they move to AH.

And then you get the CTU opening their mouth a few weeks ago. Why does CTU care about educational funding in suburbs?

Anyway, the saga continues. I have a vested interest, I live in AH, but I'm over it and am just going to worry about the team on field now.

But make no mistake, both parties are to blame. IL has called their bluff, we will see.

It's looking more and more like the Bears are going to Indiana. But, until it happens and it's final, I still see them playing in Illinois.

This is all a typical Illinois fustercluck. If AH doesn't happen, it will be because of the dysfunction and small minds that exist in our state legislature.

Quite frankly, I want the stadium development in Arlington Heights for reasons other than the Bears. If the Bears alone were driving my feelings on this, I would want them in Indiana where they will get a better deal financially.

My biggest issue if they don't end up in AH is that they tore down a perfectly good race track.

Really don’t know what they can do. Indiana location sounds like the soil isn’t buildable.

But, what info can anyone trust in all of this?
Ya, who knows at this point with that site. It wouldn't surprise me if Bears and IL met and there was a special session, it has already been floated.
Bears wanted a Kansas vs Missouri situation and IL called their bluff. We will see if it really was a bluff.

No denying the facility was in great shape, but horse racing in Illinois lost its monopoly on the legalized gambling/betting market with the advent of casinos and sports betting. Times change. If the entire enterprise had been perfectly good, it would have been turning such a profit that the Churchill Downs folks would have been crazy to put the property on the market.

Yet another thing the state screwed up. Wouldn't let Churchill add a casino to AH so they sold it and bought Rivers Casino instead.

Damn, I miss Friday afternoons at the track.
