Did not seem to help with Stokes who was a Nike kid and signed with Kansas an Adidas School
How exactly did they “tried really hard” to help us get stokes? Link?Seems like they tried really hard with Stokes. I think that was more of not wanting someone they are paying a bunch of money to play at an adidas school than helping UK. Do they help us with others? I don't know. I haven't seen anything suggesting they are.
It's almost as if Pope was not qualified for the job and is now having to learn on the job.I get the impression that Pope isn’t utilizing all of the resources that could be at his disposal.
Nobody knew how the NIL would play out and are all learning on the job, but Pope seems further behind the curve than most. It's almost as if Pope was not qualified for the job and is now having to learn on the job.
NIL isn't an excuse. Pope has had the highest offer for many recruits.Nobody knew how the NIL would play out and are all learning on the job but Pope seems further behind the curve than most.
How do you know this? Links?NIL isn't an excuse. Pope has had the highest offer for many recruits.
Been proven and publicly stated by many people with direct info. I'm not pulling links. That's a fallacy and misleading way to argue. "Go painstakingly and immediately pull links or you're wrong."How do you know this? Links?
There’s a network that exists and it seems that Pope has chosen to go his own way in many respects. More comfortable being his own man, so to speak. It's almost as if Pope was not qualified for the job and is now having to learn on the job.
Nike does nothing for Uk other than provide unis. Cal destroyed that relationship several years ago by pulling out of the Phil Knight event.
I talked with one of Cal's friends last summer. He lives in Lexington and regularly broke bread with the Calipari family. Ellen and his wife were besties.I think there’s some truth to this, but only some.
The idea that Nike is unwilling to do anything for UK is unlikely, imo.
But does Duke get first dibs? Not sure how you could argue otherwise.
Did Cal get sideways with Phil Knight? I’ve always suspected that came before pulling out of the event and not after, but that’s just my read on the room.
So, you don’t KNOW anything. Got it.Been proven and publicly stated by many people with direct info. I'm not pulling links. That's a fallacy and misleading way to argue. "Go painstakingly and immediately pull links or you're wrong."
All good. I have no doubt that the relationship got worse after Cal pulled us out of the tournament. I just think there was some other stuff going on back to 2014 at least, when Cal decided not to take the Cavs job.I talked with one of Cal's friends last summer. He lives in Lexington and regularly broke bread with the Calipari family. Ellen and his wife were besties.
He told me lots of things, but did mention that relationship had really soured. Cal told him Nike treated him coldly ever since that pull out from the huge Nike Portland event. The PK 80 was an event Uk had committed to, but when Cal saw final Format of 3 games in a row and possibly 4 in 5 days, he didn’t want to take a young team and do that. Apparently, Knight was pretty pissed and had assumed UK would be there to help the event.
I won’t share everything the guy told me on here, but this one is safe to share.
Pretty sure they were the source that was paying for Stokes and only StokesDid not seem to help with Stokes who was a Nike kid and signed with Kansas an Adidas School
This isn’t the place you come to learn on the job. Keep that crap out west Utah Valley StateIt's almost as if Pope was not qualified for the job and is now having to learn on the job.
Pretty sure that supplemental money for Stokes was rumor and never actually established to be factual.Pretty sure they were the source that was paying for Stokes and only Stokes
It's almost as if you are just guessing at all of this and do not have any actual fact based idea what you are talking about. It's almost as if Pope was not qualified for the job and is now having to learn on the job.
No, what he is saying is, no matter what links, he provides, you will discredit the source, even if it came from the player himself. For example, If yaxel said, Kentucky has the highest offer, you would say, he’s lying. You are not worth the time and you have access to the internet and you can provide links proving we have not had the highest offers in any players as well. We will wait. So, you don’t KNOW anything. Got it.
Maybe Pope doesn't want the NCAA to get involved when you start adding outside people into recruiting. I don't know that for sure, but I would assume that Nike would really want to help UK out with as much money as we make them.I get the impression that Pope isn’t utilizing all of the resources that could be at his disposal.
In other words, you’re full of crap.Been proven and publicly stated by many people with direct info. I'm not pulling links. That's a fallacy and misleading way to argue. "Go painstakingly and immediately pull links or you're wrong."
There's like 5 of you on here that everyone makes fun of. LOL. Low IQ dipshits. In other words, you’re full of crap.
