UL keeps pushing Pope to bring more to the table. MM is sitting back and letting the two rivals run up his NIL value. It is coming down to how high Pope is willing to go for MM. Thoughts?
Value in a vacuum isn’t the only consideration here. From what I’m reading it really sounds like he’s UL bound. I’d tell the dude to kiss my *** you ain’t getting no more. You ain’t Larry Bird
This is the why we needed a GM.UL keeps pushing Pope to bring more to the table. MM is sitting back and letting the two rivals run up his NIL value. It is coming down to how high Pope is willing to go for MM. Thoughts?
Or, hear me out on this one, hire a men's basketball coach that recruits don't require double the money to play for.We need to seriously consider allocating men’s basketball funding to football and other programs at this point.
That seems like the recruiting pitch that Pope gives to most players. If ul wants him for way too much so be it. I would tell him that our offer is final take it or leave it. Screw these greedy kids.
This guy ain’t good enough to carry us to a national title and even if he was, we don’t have enough help for him anyway. We should’ve fought harder/better in the beginning so we wouldn’t have to be in this mess.Value in a vacuum isn’t the only consideration here.
You also have to factor rarity. He’s the last guy left with the type of ability he has as a top 5 portal talent.
You can’t miss this one.
What do you think a GM would do differently? We have a 4 person team that handles the same tasks. And like with every college team, the coach has final say. This is the why we needed a GM.
If that's true, he is taking less money. This guy ain’t good enough to carry us to a national title and even if he was, we don’t have enough help for him anyway. We should’ve fought harder/better in the beginning so we wouldn’t have to be in this mess.
That’s what’s being reported all over Twitter right now.If that's true, he is taking less money.
Pope(who is actually responsible for recruiting) is way worse for recruiting than fans commenting on message boards(who aren't responsible for recruiting), yet you only defend one and only attack the other. The OP is a perfect example of why I check post counts. He posts a stupid and incendiary statement. Then lazy journalists like Yahoo sports come here and gather content. This content is way mote likely to be seen by recruits, agents, and family members. This place is absolutely being used as a tool to hurt recruiting. The OP is a phony, we know that. But Yahoo won't check his post count. It'll be written as if it came from an actual fan.
Sure. Even if I grant all that, we gotta get this guy now. Unless you have a Time Machine, our best option is Momcilovic as the star player. He’s valuable, but even more valuable for us given our need and available options. This guy ain’t good enough to carry us to a national title and even if he was, we don’t have enough help for him anyway. I think you know the answer. Our offer is already several hundreds of thousands of dollars over UofL's, so why would we have to raise it?
It was also reported yesterday all over Twitter that it was a done deal to UK. You can't believe all recruiting Twitter experts. That’s what’s being reported all over Twitter right now.
I don’t need a Time Machine. What I need is an AD and head coach who ain’t a couple of bozo the clown losers.Sure. Even if I grant all that, we gotta get this guy now. If you’re looking for a coaching change, that’s a full year away.I don’t need a Time Machine. What I need is an AD and head coach who ain’t a couple of bozo the clown losers.
That’s what I need.
Per UKathletics.com, "Prior to his time with the Herd, Brown spent five seasons with Pope at BYU where he advanced from video coordinator to director of player personnel. In that role, he was involved in scouting coordination, roster construction planning, NIL strategy and allocation, and integrating analytics into personnel decision-making."Hopefully this goofball Keegan Brown is tied to Pope so when Pope is canned he is gone too. Somehow he has made Pope and even worse recruiter, which I didn’t think was possible.
Good for you. Go ahead and reserve your NIT tickets. Im focusing on the inevitable which is a brighter future with a better leader. If you’re looking for a coaching change, that’s a full year away.
Im dealing with the right now
What do you think a GM would do differently? We have a 4 person team that handles the same tasks. And like with every college team, the coach has final say.
Negotiations is the biggest role for a GM. It’s clear this staff has no ability to recruit. What do you think a GM would do differently? We have a 4 person team that handles the same tasks. And like with every college team, the coach has final say.
Then why not take a break from the board until then? Surely, you aren’t going to copy and paste the same post for a full calendar year? I’m frustrated with the coach as well, and if he doesn’t get Mom I expect he loses all the remaining support he has…..Good for you. Go ahead and reserve your NIT tickets. Im focusing on the inevitable which is a brighter future with a better leader.
He won't lose all of the support. Some people seriously think the team, as it stands now, is actually good. I obviously vehemently disagree with that, but he won't lose all supportThen why not take a break from the board until then? But having zero nuance and repeating the same talking point not only becomes irritating…it’s also ineffective.
I replied to your post about why the player isn’t worth the value. I treated as a serious point and VOILA flip over the card and it’s another “Mark Pope sucks” post. We have heard it enough, most of us agree with it by now. The horse is dead.
You replied to me. If you don’t like what I have to say then you can move on. Sorry I don’t give the fools warm fuzzies by being honest. Im gonna keep telling it like it is til something changes. And he’s already lost all support from any fan who has half a brain. No matter where this dude chooses to play at changes nothing. Then why not take a break from the board until then? I mean support from the people that pay the bills. Not fans. Some fans care more about winning some theoretical war of opinions with other fans than the product itself. I’m talking about donor and booster support. Reports they will be very cranky if Pope doesn’t close. He won't lose all of the support. 4 person team of people that already worked for UK, none of which are GM's. It doesn't matter that the coach has the final say, it's about negotiating deals and getting them done quickly, which Pope is not good at(as reported by Pilgrim and Polacheck). What do you think a GM would do differently? We have a 4 person team that handles the same tasks. And like with every college team, the coach has final say.

Thanks!Hey, you do you.
If your post is “this player is overvalued”, then you can expect people to assume your post is about the player being overvalued.
My mistake for taking your point literally. I’ll wait until we get a new coach to respond to you since your posts aren’t meant to be taken literally.
Damn, did we already play the season and not make the tourney? I must have missed that.Good for you. Go ahead and reserve your NIT tickets. Im focusing on the inevitable which is a brighter future with a better leader.

Blows my mind. Who cares about $1 million in the grand scheme of things in a full Kentucky basketball season. Lock him up. Louisville has drastically overpaid for their players. So? It's not our money and if Pope has a season like last year the new AD might tell him to kick rocks. He's gotta deliver this year and they've apparently got plenty left to spend. What's the solution then, spend less, suck next year, then hope to keep that money for another year and pray your job is safe for a year four?
