If you are willing to splurge a bit at Wegman's, get tri tip. I smoked it on mesquite up to 120 and reverse seared it for 3 mins a side. Came out perfectly. The folks in Central California kept tri tip a secret amongst themselves for too long lol. Now I want to smoke/reverse sear picanha which is the money meat at Fogo de Chao or any Brazilian steakhouse.1000011661.jpg1000011660.jpg

Got a London Broil earlier this week.

Marinate 24hrs (olive oil, red wine vinegar, honey, steak seasoning, minced garlic, worchestershire sauce)

Smoked at 225° for about 2hrs until internal temp 135° (should have probably pulled it earlier)
Seared on a hot grill

Came out great.
Actually needed to let it rest longer because the juices were running eveywhere.

Will have to check it out, Trader's Joe and Costco used to carry it but stopped awhile ago.

Gotta really be careful smoking a lean cut like London broil. With no fat cap to protect it (its even leaner than tri tip), it can dry out easily. Key is being very careful with temp monitoring.

You also need to remember to wrap it in plastic and run over it a few times to tenderize it.
