I actually met his dad soon after the ECU game. He was super nice, and wished us luck. I did ask him about Ethan, and he said that since he threw 65 pitches, he would pitch, but not start. I guess we’ll see.Norby went 4 2/3. I’m guessing they will ride him until his arm falls off tomorrow.
They both will be availableFor ECU's starters, my understanding is that Towers (54 pitches v Tennessee) and Norby (65 pitches vs Tennessee) are their top two starting pitchers. Based on their usage vs Vols on Friday, seems like neither would be available Saturday vs UNC.
100% both will be available. Maybe not for as long, but they'll throw everything at us. Need a good showing from DeCaro. For ECU's starters, my understanding is that Towers (54 pitches v Tennessee) and Norby (65 pitches vs Tennessee) are their top two starting pitchers. Throwing a top 2-3 round draft pick on 24 hours rest after 65 pitches is a choice, let’s see how he recovers. I know they’re attempting to use him in the Pence roll but he threw more pitches yesterday than Pence did the first 3 days of the regionalECU threw their entire weekend rotation and more yesterday. I'd be shocked if they weren't all available today. Norby is playing the Dalton Pence role for them now....big situation today, he'll be out there.
That’s pure negligence for a kids future. Forget the game, but no chance I run Norby back out there today.ECU threw their entire weekend rotation and more yesterday. I mean that’s fair from Forbes I guess but it’s not really at all how that works. One 105 pitch outing is not the same as three straight 35 pitch days, for a number of reasons. It’s no wonder so many young guys have surgery these days. One unc game i watched said forbes looked more at the amount of pitches in a weekend a pitcher threw. For example, Lynch pitched 107....so theoretically if he pitched 50 one day, he could throw about 50 the rest of the weekend.
I'd assume those guys could probably throw 40 to 50 for ezu.... effectiveness may be another story
PayneWould you mind saying it here. Opening the gane thread is bad juju for me.
His dad told me that he talked to Ethan right after the game and he told his dad that he was pitching again today, regardless of who he would be facing. He just wasn’t going to start. That’s pure negligence for a kids future. Forget the game, but no chance I run Norby back out there today.
Yeah, he’s a kid. I get where he’s coming from. I’ve been in the same situation, the adults in the room shouldn’t put him in that situation. His dad told me that he talked to Ethan right after the game and he told his dad that he was pitching again today, regardless of who he would be facing. He just wasn’t going to start.
