I didn’t research it but I think that may be the point, football portal closed so he transferred via the “track” portal and play football as a hobby while being a dedicated “track athlete” for regulatory purposes…..again none of that is verified I’m just speculating based on that twitter post.
But not sure what other loopholes there are. Why can’t a kid take a job as a part time associate AD while he works on his degree and walk on for football?

Seems the NCAA should mandate if you want immediate eligibility you can only play in the sport y oh transferred under. Otherwise you sit a year and lose a year of eligibility.
ETA: could also say a specific sport's roster has to be set by a set date and anybody added after that date also has to sit a year.

Yea, not sure this is a QB versus an athlete that played QB in high school, but I suspect Kiffin will be able to figure out a way to use him at QB, even if it's just limited packages. But he's also only a RS Sophomore, so maybe he is a QB that just hasn't had the right coach and/or opportunity yet.
If you're counting on a 3-star QB who has listed as a WR at his previous college, you've got real problems.

Rain Man is clever and willing to gamble, based on his calculations. This was well established in the movie.
I don't think I'll ever be surprised (or disappointed) again at anything the dumpster fire charade known as "college athletics" produces.
