If this message board is any indication, our fanbase has too many lards who are content with us looking third class. Let’s keep half the seats empty! Looks fantastic on television as the announcers discuss record crowds!
Tovarisch…

Tovarisch…

Tovarisch…

As long as you are a fan, we’ll be third class…

Now take the Devil’s Dirt that are your totalitarian Communist ideals back to your Motherland…

No one is screwing with me. I’m just throwing out an idea that would help multiple issues and possibly reduce the need to spend money on a big expansion.
You responded with logic to his old trope from 20 years ago. It's no longer a truly significant problem. If someone needs seats, they can go pay on SeatGeek. The few empties that are around don't mean anything. The place looks absolutely packed every time I watch a game that isn't weekday, or have weather affecting it.

It’s not that it looks bad or is some monumental issue. But there are definitely ticket holders that don’t use their tickets and don’t sell them. This is just another opportunity for non season ticket holders It’s why there are almost never empty seats at regionals or supers. They are more important but we also make you actively buy the ticket.

You being a clueless piggie is the point I’ve made.

So a few seats behind home plate is half the stadium? I know I shouldn't engage with the troll, but you are monumentally stupid.
Obviously a LOT of truth to what I say or nobody would even be slightly stirred up by it. If you want to keep your head in the sand, and part of the problem… be my guest! I promise I will not be losing any sleep over it.

You don’t see Duke basketball with half the seats empty around the court. Why are some people OK with half our stadium seats empty behind home plate? It’s not a good look.
Our games are fun. Our games are family time. Duke’s stadium has a capacity of 2000. They in those seats studying for a test. They don’t give AF

We damn sure don't want to suffer the shame of of having empty seats in view of the camera when a sellout has been announced so here is the plan. We hire flunkies to stand at the top of the applicable sections just out of view of the camera, ready to rush down and occupy any seat vacated by the seat holder until they return. Yeah, I know this is ridiculous but so is this entire thread.

So here’s an idea that sigma_dawg would likely endorse.

We could have seatbelts installed in each chair back seat. The seatbelt would know when it was fastened like the one in your car and sound an alarm if it is unbuckled without permission. There also could be pressure switches to verify that someone is actually sitting in the seat.

If we had this, then we should also have an app that goes on your phone so that if you need to go to the bathroom, you could apply through the app for permission to go. Of course you would need to wear a non-removable ankle bracelet for the entire time that you’re out of your seat so that your position can be monitored. Permission to go to the bathroom could only be granted through the app by a three person panel. If the season ticket holder is not in the chair back seat with the seatbelt buckled by the time of first pitch, they should be banned permanently from ever setting foot on campus at Mississippi State and also have their TV monitored at home so that they would not even be allowed to watch MSU games in any sport while sitting in their living room because they are not worthy. If these chairback holders ever missed one game or even are late, their ticket buying privileges should be revoked permanently. Each person should be required to wear the same style, maroon shirt and maroon baseball cap. No one should be allowed to leave their seat to go to the concession stand. Sure, this will hurt concession sales, but it’s worth it just to give the appearance of a full stadium on TV.

I’m sure that there are other restrictions and controls that could be instituted, but maybe this would at least be a start that would please sigma_dawg. ***

See this is how stupid some of our fans are. Instead of acknowledging the problem and offering ACTUAL solutions, they double down on stupid lard behavior and enable it.

The pathetic thing is that most of this is probably an extremely easy fix. We have a lot of students who know how to code and use AI. But, for some reason we enjoy half our stadium seats being empty and making every excuse why it SHOULD be that way. We could make the best college baseball atmosphere that much better.

That’s a dumb idea. We’ve already got flunkies paying to be there known as the SRO crowd who would do that. Just add a premium temporary seat holder license fee to their SRO ticket cost to give them access to the seats when somebody gets up.IMG_3274.jpeg

Let me start off in an extremely positive manner in that our baseball fan support is unparalleled and getting better. That is a testament to the excitement Coach Oconnor has brought to the program and should be commended.

However, even when we announce “sellout” record breaking crowds you turn on the tv and half the bleachers are empty behind home plate. This is not a one off either, it happens nearly every time. Could a system not be developed to ensure we actually fill up the stadium? If someone owns those tickets and regularly don’t show up, do not allow them to purchase the tickets again. It looks terrible on television. Make a system where they can be distributed to other bulldog fans or GA if folks know they are coming. Any thoughts?
Maybe we should get a bunch of these guys…

We could make the Dude look like picture 1… crazy that they all don’t have to all go spend 2 hrs in the bathroom but we do for some reason? But, we seem content to make it look like picture 2 in our biggest moments.

I get it that some people don’t care if we have a very sparse looking crowd and mild atmosphere (you’re fine to skip the thread)… but, if other places can pack the house we should be able to as well with our fan support… not to mention make it more intimidating for opposing teams. God knows we need that with Oconnor getting swept at home a few times.

I think youre onto something here. Let the SRO's rock paper scissors to decide who gets to sit in the seat while they go get popcorn. They keep your family company while youre gone. Win win

I say keep at it dawg, you're really making some good points and bringing people over to your viewpoint. If our fans don't want to come to games and sit in their seats the entire time, we really need to punish that kind of sick behavior. Or we'll build the next stadium without ANY seats.

those students could code AI to place an image of said ticket holder on the TV broadcast so that none of the seats appear empty while they are grabbing a brew or stretching their legs. But then again, I guess this never bothers me, as I'm always at the Dude for the games and don't watch weekend games from a TV

I’m very familiar with the area. This shouldn’t be difficult. I agree with the person who said it’s the persons ticket and they should be able to do with it as they please. The university should also be able to do as it pleases and if say row 2, seat 3 is empty for 10% of games… revoke privileges for that person to buy the ticket again. If someone wants to spend their time in the outfield… encourage them to buy tickets there. If someone knows they can’t be there… give them option to release tickets to other bulldogs or GA. It would greatly enhance the game day experience and improve optics on NATIONAL broadcast

gonna be a no for me dog.

I know I may be crazy, but I kinda think we've got a single nutjob with multiple personalities running a bunch of these accounts. The patterns are similar.

Bring up some obscure subject or question and try to get a bunch of us into a debate about something completely pointless. Like it's feeding some weird ego trip.

All of this is just an observation and some suggestions for the betterment of MSU. There’s no reason for childish insults that accomplishes nothing.

I’m FULLY convinced that there’s a group of fans do not want to see MSU succeed. Carry on the lard behavior. It’s certainly not worth getting upset over.

I know alot of chairback fans that will go out to the outfield during games to see friends and what not. This is a not a big deal imo when we are far and away the best atmosphere in college baseball already.

Maybe we have seat fillers at some point. I've seen some of that stuff in MLB games before. If you have a hailstate dog tag (which all ticket holders do) then it is already very easy to transfer tickets.
We are definitely the biggest crowds. I went to game 1 in College Station this year and the atmosphere was amazing. They are into every pitch. For the record though they have zero seats in the outfield so all the excitement is right behind home plate.

Baum is a pretty good atmosphere too. There are some good ones.

Yeah, we've got a troll here.

Who else would want to create a position for someone to watch the seats in the stadium to monitor how many minutes someone sat there during the season. Do you want this done for the premium seats in Davis Wade too, someone to watch and see how much time a fan spends inside the The Gridiron Club, The Floyd Wade Club, The Scoreboard Club, etc vs how much time they spent sitting in their seats outside? Do you hear voices in your head talking back while you are dreaming this stuff up?
This. I have access to one of the Gridiron Club suites, and we stay inside the suite or out in the Gridiron Club shooting the crap, drinking, eating, going to the bathroom, or watching the game on TV as much as we stay outside where the seats are. Maybe more
