He is a good coach I think he took UNI to the post season and they gave zero scholarships to players.

it’s about money now. Everything else is secondary.

I think it’s time for the NCAA to drop the number of sports requirement. If it isn’t revenue generating I would let the lesser sports just die off. You would need enough women’s scholarships to offset football but besides that just end it.
If you enjoy the USA dominating the Olympics every 4 years then this is a terrible idea.

The BIG is struggling in tourny.
UCLA -out.
Neb- out
Oregon- still alive
USC - not sure

#1 UCLA getting beaten by St Mary's is pretty devastating.

.
B10 is back to being the laughing stock of college baseball.

We are to baseball what the SEC is to wrestling. Might as well not even exist........

Next season looks to be an adventure with the ever growing transfer holes added to the infield graduation losses.
It's gonna be 2000s level comically bad.

Sad to see, but the players saw the writing on the wall that A. the university has no intention of financially supporting the baseball players themselves and B. Heller needs to be Ole Yeller'd..............

I know they invested in upgrading the facilities, but let's be honest. Modern day Gen Z and soon to be Gen A players don't give a sh** about that.

Heller gave it a try and had a nice run. He did some things here at Iowa that haven't been done in decades, or at least not since the days when the midwest actually still cared about the sport of baseball.

But it's over now, and there isn't a single coach in this country that could come in here now in these times and merely "coach 'em up" to make Iowa a true regional contender once again.

I say a tweet that 1,400 entered the baseball portal.

can’t be many schools that pay baseball players but I guess it can’t hurt to look.
Basically entering a lottery in the hopes of getting picked to play at a coastal/warm climate program that takes D1 baseball seriously.

If they get passed over, then they settle for their second, third, fourth options rather than just sticking with the program they were at, previously, and developing there.

But hey, because a professional coach with years and even decades of experience and training can "leave whenever he wants" by golly this should be an acceptable, viable, and sustainable option for the amatuer/non-professional ("professional" only in theory because they get money now, and not actually based on skill level just sayin.......................) players as well!!! 😃😃😃😃😃
