Serious quesiton. When's the last time Pope did anything that made the fans happy?

Seriously. Was there a win, a recruiting victory, a strategic plan that made BBN happy and added some seriouslly positive momentum into the program?

I can't think of the last time.

The guy is horrific at this.
LMAO. All you're missing is the violin music

What logic? Do you know how hard any college coach in America would laugh at your overdramatic whining posts? Its a joke dude, you sound like a teenager who didn't get what they wanted for their birthday
Ad hom is your ticket every time.

When will you offer real substance to any of your arguments?

I can't remember the last time.

I've yet to see a solid defense of Mark Pope written by you, and yet you disparage anyone who takes shots at him.

I know you're capable of doing better.

I still believe in you.

And what about the Zags beating us by 35? Louisville hammering us. Didn’t lead for a second against Florida all year? That didn’t happen?
Those things did happen and Pope should be outta here. But we did beat eventual champs Florida in what was widely considered the best game of the year in year 1. And that win didn't follow the typical "come back from double digits and luck into a win" formula for Pope. We actually looked legit at that point of year 1.
The wheels have totally fallen off and there's no point in year 3.
Those things can be true at the same time.

Matt Jones says they have another deal already set up to go somewhere. What the hell is wrong with Pope?

I'll ask again. Why does it have to be a "foreign" summer tour?

Not that it really matters. I don't really care if, or where, they play some summer tour until they fully fill out the roster. And even then, I might prefer they focus their time on developing/expanding skills sets and strength training.

According to KSR this morning, there is a place that they could go if they wanted. Said it was close enough that fans could go. UK just needs to agree to go.

It's not just any foreign country.
He chose Israel for a very specific purpose.
It's all political theater.

Well, I don't really care about the issue of Israel, specifically. I just always hear these deals referred to as "foreign tours," and it seems everyone believes they can only happen if they leave the country. Is that actually the case? Is there some rule that restricts it this way?

Well because normally it would be a cool experience to go to the Bahamas or Italy or some exotic destination like that where you can bond with your future teammates and play a couple games. I don't know why there would be a rule saying it had to be foreign? At least I've never heard of such a rule.

But Israel never made sense. Reeks of Barnhart and / or Craft involvement.

Just fire the dude and let’s get on with UK basketball.

There’s nothing Pope does well as coach.

I think it’s malfeasance because I think he’s trying to get fired. But the very least it’s misfeasance.
Dude, Head Coaches are not negotiating foreign trips. This is again Mitch Barnharts administration. Our Administrative support is non existent compared to other programs. A GM wouldn’t be negotiating that either.
Im gonna start Pope Derangement Syndrome. You guys blame Pope for the rain. He’s Head Coach. He has input but would never have time to negotiate a foreign trip. Get real. Stuff like that all falls on the AD.

That Pope catches the blame for things he has no control over.
News Flash… Todd Golden at Florida in not responsible for bringing back every frontcourt player for 2 straight years. He is a coach. It’s the Administration that works to retain those players and put together the package that brings them back. Not the head coach.
My point is no coach could succeed with our Administration. Pope will most likely be fired next year. We won’t be able to attract any good candidates with JMI and our administration. Our only hope is the New AD nukes the entire program. Mitch has killed UK. His reluctance to NIL and restrictions and horrible deals have left us irrelevant. Hurley, Golden, or any hot name would flounder here. All Goldens front court would be gone if he coached here.

I guarantee you we will.
I agree that the department is the root of many of these problems but...we can do better than Pope, man. We can and will replace him with a better coach.

Never ceases to amaze me, Pope is so far in over his head. The fact Israel was not only considered but ultimately chosen by Pope is 🤯

I hope you’re right. I think Pope is a pretty good coach. Last year he had his 4th choice at every position on the floor.
We were void of talent and the pieces didn’t fit. Who is to blame for our lack of ability to sign good players?? Pope, JMI or our Administrators is the question. We do know Pope gets them here to visit. Then they go elsewhere. If Pope was so goofy and unrelatable , how does he talk them in to visiting? No one truly knows except those few inside the program. I’ve met CMP. He seemed awfully impressive to me. I’m one of few who believes our NIL stinks. Why, because everything Mitch has ever done stinks. His JMI deal is something no other school has followed. No other school has turned over their NIL to an outside for profit company. Media rights yes, NIL negotiations no. Not any other school. Yet, our fans say it’s fine . Pope is goofy. Ok. You guys go ahead and believe that.

For every big win there are surprising losses. Who is We? And how would “we” be better off?
Way to move the goalposts. You were never happy with a big win because we had a surprising loss somewhere along the way? Apparently you don't qualify as part of the "we". Negative whiners that can't even enjoy a big win due to their agenda and only b*tch and run down our coach and program are of no benefit to anyone.

And I took sauls query as more of happiest in the tenure. Of course there have been other good wins but more baffling losses. And most of the wins we show up unprepared and have to rally. Gets old.

Moving the goalposts? You said we would be better off without him as a fan. How do you know that? Perhaps he attends games (i do), stays in hotels (I do), eats locally around Rupp (I do), donates to Kfund (I do), have season tickets to EVERY sport (I do). You don’t know what you don’t know. You just like to complain on a message board. You don’t hear me telling people we don’t need them as fans. How much you spending every year (espn plus excluded).

This was the original question.

"Serious quesiton. When's the last time Pope did anything that made the fans happy?"

"Seriously. Was there a win, a recruiting victory, a strategic plan that made BBN happy and added some seriously positive momentum into the program?"

You changed it to when was the last time Pope did anything to make you happy which you can't apply your crybaby agenda driven logic to to somehow counter act and discount it?

I stand by my claim that we are better off without those who constantly crap on the coach and the program and can't not even give credit or be happy when we do succeed.

No. You are muddying the question because I am doing what you do here EVERY day. You pick certain sentences out of a post that you take offense to and argue that point relentlessly.

You said we are better off without fans like that (paraphrasing). I said you don’t know that- and you don’t. You are just doing what you do. Complain and whine about posts you don’t like. It’s all you do.

Utterly false about calling out liars and whiners being the only thing I do. If I had a restaurant and I had a paying customer who did nothing but bad mouth me, my staff, and my business I would indeed consider myself better off without him even though he was bringing in money.

I noticed you didn't touch the part about how you moved the goal post on the original question.
