Natalie Merchant was hotter back in the day, but Edie looks really good for a 60 year old.

Edit: I actually saw her perform with her husband (Paul Simon) in Memphis last year.

Natalie, hands down. Better looking. Better in concert. Much better voice.

Edie got stoned in front of the cameras and turned an amusing little ditty into a smash. Big deal, it was 1988 we were transitioning from rock into the 90s crap. She did manage to make Paul Simon to forget about Art Garfunkel, I guess.

Edie back in the day would be the much better hang. Flat out cool. Would not carry it any further, though.

(Trivial back story: Low key "opened up" for her and the NB in early 1989 at their old high school, Booker T. Washington in Dallas.
I was thrashing mad Thomas Morley era tunes as part of the M.C. Madrigal outfit. lol 🤘. Part of a school program where the closer was a homecoming gig from the New Bohemians. The benny was getting to hang with bass player Brad Houser (RIP) for a few and talk "slappin' the bass".)

Natalie would be more suitable for a victim of securities fraud. The ol' Pump and Dump.
