Some interesting results today already. Asher Cunningham lost to a D2 kid who had made a final Fargo against Melvin miller I believe a couple years ago. Antonio mills went 0-2 losing to farnsworth and munaretto which I wouldn’t have expected either result. What makes it more interesting is him and munaretto are both going to Ohio state and look to be both be 25ers at least to start their careers. Camryn Howard who is suppose to be the next big thing from KD lost to Mac crosson who’s from Iowa but going to Nebraska. Don’t know how big of a recruit he was? Michael white who it seems like Oklahoma state is really high on got teched in a minute against a South Dakota kid. Also Kody Rutledge who on paper looks like has no spot to start for Oklahoma state in the near future beat Will Denny, wonder how long he’d be okay not starting

Mocco clearly struggled with Ross' length there. Three guys coming in at that weight, and right now Mike is clearly #3. Hopeful he can make big leaps.
I think Mocco is going to be much more competitive against Merrill in folk, especially when he fills out.

Mocco has the only takedowns while Merrill is winning off of pushouts.

Ross on the other hand…

This didn’t age well. Takedown and leg lace for the tech fall.

Merrill will push most guys around. Mocco will need to fend him off regardless of will get hit for a lot of stalls against him. Heavies are hard to gauge. A guy like Merrill could get ridden hard and might not be so good when he is on top. Of the 3, I think Mocco has the most upside, wish we could have got his dad on staff.

You could look at it this way - if his dad was on staff then he would have to spread his time equally among the upper weights. This way he can spend all the time he wants with him whenever he may be around. Just looking for positives - that's how I choose to roll.

Ross was 232.5 , Mocco 240.5 and Merrill 259.9. Ross up 7 lbs from the open
I think its the length of Ross that gives Mocco problems and strength as well. Mocco got in once to his ankle but seemed to give up on it just as quickly as he got in on it. Mocco will get stronger but will still have the length of Ross to figure out. Cant wait to watch these guys in folk.

Agree and likely wouldnt make sense for Steve with his academy in Florida.

Being able to roll with Kueter on a regular basis will be as good a way as any to figure out what to do with length.

True. BK is a tough one to get in on. Off topic, but just wondering how the 5 for 5 is going to work out with both Mocco and BK for 2 more years. Im sure Michael isn't going to want to give up 2 years of eligibility.
