Put yourself in UGA's shoes. Would you be glad to see State paired with your bracket?..

You would think they would be giddy about it having gone 4-0 against us this season but I would not.

Two reasons why I would not: 1) All 4 games were close and it is difficult to beat anybody 4 times in a row without a loss in competitive games much less 6. You gotta think lady luck has to tip in our favor at some point. 2) After 7 weeks we now have our previous #1 pitcher back who was not available when we played UGA back in April and that creates a new dynamic.

Now I am NOT predicting an upset over uga. Hell, we gotta a long way to go to even get there, but I know it would make me a bit uncomfortable if it was us in that situation.

Same scenario - How would we feel about being matched up against Ole Miss in a Super Regional?
I would have the same reservations even though there is a rivalry element in that one. On the other hand, in the 4 games we played vs mississippi only one was close. We won by 1, 5, 6, and 4.

I doubt UGA is thrilled about getting us. If you take West Virginia and Kansas off the board, then I'd think they would prefer Nebraska for sure? Probably Southern Miss also? I think I'd prefer Oregon and FSU also if I were them, but I know a lot less about them, so maybe that's just bias. But anywhere from two to four hosts that I think they'd prefer over us.

There have been several UGA fans on the various Instagram pages that all are not "comfortable" possibly playing us. Mainly the same sentiments as this string

Exactly. And honestly, assuming us and Georgia both win, I don't think the 3 regular season and 1 SECT games will matter one way or the other. People have a tendency to say, man, Georgia has to beat MSU 6 out of 7 games to advance. That's wrong. They have to win 2 out of 3. Same as us.
Our games with them have been pretty even. Stats are not heavily skewed in their favor, other than the final results (3 games were basically dead even and they got the hit they needed, we did not). So it's pretty much a coin toss.

The odds of a coin toss landing on the same side 6 times in a row are 1 in 64, or 1.5%.
The odds of a coin toss landing on the same side 6 out of 7 times are 7 in 64, or 10.94%.

Does that mean that UGA has an 11% chance of beating us twice? No, but it does tell me two things. 1. We have a chance. and 2. F--k olemiss.

Now do the odds of the coin landing on the same side 6 out of 6 or 6 out of 7 times AFTER IT HAS ALREADY LANDED ON THE SAME SIDE 4 TIMES IN A ROW

The real reason I don't want to play MSU if I'm Georgia is because MSU could be a very dangerous team. Especially if McPherson is 100% back.

Yup. Pretty evenly matched games when only one of the starters they saw was still a starter for us by the end of the year. They have been the better team, but not by leaps and bounds and wouldn't take much to flip the results in a 3 game series. And if we both make it to the supers, it looks like we will have two different starting pitchers from what they faced in the regular season (granted they did just beat Stone in the SEC tournament, so they will have seen 2 of our 3 likely starters).

The players shoes or the fans shoes? Because I can tell you, the fans don't even know they are playing.

That's why we'll probably be able to take over their stadium in the Super.

I wish because I live 40 miles from there but they will turn out for this. Not like State but the stadium will be full.

I think they are 2 out of 3 better than us so by my figuring in the 6 games we might play they have already won their four so the next two should be ours! IF we can just get out of Starkville LOOK OUT!

I think they’d be giddy if they were paired with the other MS team that had a regional.

FF to about 6:00 if you want to relive ejectionpalooza and remember how the SEC screwed us. I think they replaced Tulane and Vandy as my most hated baseball-only rival that night.

I don't hate Georgia for that. Nothing happens if Long's punk azz acts like an adult.

But the SEC office 17'd the aftermath up royally. Throw Long out of the game and move on.

I’m less scared of the Cajuns than I am Cincy. I think I will be rooting for our Cajun brethren on Friday night.
We will handle either with Valencus on the mound. That’s the beautiful thing about hosting, you get the easy number 4 and don’t have to burn your ace.

Cincy is a much better offensive team than UL is why I fear them a little bit more.

Cajuns have a really good ace but we probably won’t see him Saturday.

I feel like he’s gonna start the Lipscomb game and if we can’t beat Lipscomb with Stone then we weren’t winning the Regional anyway.
Initially I wanted to start McPherson in Game 1. But the more I think about it the more I agree. And seeing McPherson three 80 pitches Saturday. I think it’s almost certain Stone starts game 1.
