I never believed in spending money on socks until my wife bought me some Nike athletic socks. Best brand I’ve ever owned. Had them for at least 1.5 years and haven’t worn through them yet even though they are my running socks.
Wait till you are in your 70s
Cost-not a thing if they are comfortable
And honestly I have tried them all and love the Nike stuff for everyday wear

I had to post this. I have a screened porch that we use daily. The floor is tile and over time, the center table which is metal was leaving an oval rust mark where the base sits on the tile. I've tried to clean it for over a year and nothing I have used would barely touch it.
I've use heavy duty cleaners with rotary brushes, every thing I could think of. Seriously, every time I walked out on my porch, I wondered what I could use to clean it. Nothing seemed to work.
So yesterday, my wife was in one of her cleaning moods and decided we'd clean the screen porch and move the furniture around. And of course, there in the middle of the floor is a 3/4" wide circle of rust. Looked like pure ****! Totally ruined the whole look of the porch.
While I sat at the table in it's new spot, I had my phone and searched for " how to remove rust stains from tile". It gave me various methods but said to make a paste from "Barkeeper's Friend". So I did. I applied it with one of those kitchen sponges that has an abrasive pad on one side and went to scrubbing. Let me tell you --- just ten minutes later the entire stain was GONE and it cleaned the grout as well! So that stain that has bothered me badly for over a year is now fully gone. No shadow or outline of the stain remained. So yes, I fully endorse Barkeeper's Friend!

This is an oldie from the previous site, but this thread is useless if it doesn't give a shout out to the best ice cream on earth...

I'm not a huge ice cream or dessert guy but if you like ice cream you have to try Jeni's. I've had the one that is like a Take 5 candy bar and the dark chocolate, but are awesome. That said their Watermelon Taffy ice cream is some of the best I've ever had, it's incredible.

Jeni's is good. It doesn't hold a candle to Blue Bell.

I'm sure those both feel good and are comfortable. For dress socks, I tried alot of different socks when I was young but settled on Gold Toe over the calf socks. Never bought anything but black because I was color blind and didn't want to spend allot of time sorting them. Now, I am sockless all but maybe 4-5 times a year. Even when I dress up.

Lots of new garage door openers have WiFi but we've got a 40 year old door and the motor isn't original but isn't "new" either. My Q is a $30 product that allows me to open and close the door remotely and check if I remembered to open or close it from anywhere (like bed or down the road) and it's awesome.

Hits very close to home here-on all points
Now today I don't need dress socks except for weddings and funerals

I have a My Q on one of my garages and would second this recommendation. I think mine is integrated into the unit though. It was here when I bought it, and it looks like it would be way more than $30.

My Godfather used to wear all black dress socks for the same reason, and I adopted the same philosophy for my athletic socks. Every few years I'll toss all of my low cut black socks and spend about $30 on Amazon replacing them all. After I pull them out of the dryer I just dump them all into a sock drawer unsorted.
