The committee is a joke, which seems to be rampant across a lot of sports
I’m guessing few, if any, of the committee ever played or coached at the D1 level because they obviously know zero about seeding or ranking!
I’d be interested in where the 82nd ranked team being a 4 seed compares to the historical average.
what really sucks about this regional to me is VCU being the 4. Just a total shaft job. Going 45-11 earns us the right to game our rotation but no we get a team that is more in line with being a 3 seed.

Fresno won the title in 2008 and entered the NCAAT ranked No. 89 in the RPI as a four seed. Not sure about the historical average.
Hope this pisses the boys off and we rake this weekend.
Based on DSR rankings, we got the best 2, best 3, and best 4 of any of the top 8 seeds. Also the best potential Supers opponent.

This thing is a tv show and it’s good tv to put a recent national champion against one of the premier non-SEC brands, as we saw two years ago. May have even been worth manipulating the seeds by putting a sub-.500 Q1 record in the top 4 to get it.
Hose job, plain and simple. When the tournament is over, Forbes needs to be in the ears of many people about this BS. Just the fact that Auburn got the 4th seed is a joke, much less the draw we received.
We basically got the equivalent region of the 16 and 15 seed
Wait, i went and looked at it, If you just switch us and Mississippi States region, i think we’d be thrilled. They got a worse 2, 3 and 4 than us and their 4 is in Tennessee so even just switching them and VCU could have made sense

Looks like somebody on the committee doesn't like us. Or maybe the whole bunch. It's like they loaded the entire regional with teams that were close, using geography alone as the criteria for choosing ours, while ignoring the lineups in others. SMH.
I want to think we are being irrational for complaining that this happens to Carolina baseball seemingly every year. Assuming that the NCAA doesn't have it in for the university, please @GregBarnes help us understand why this keeps happening?Greg: UNC's Tough Road to Omaha

We have the 4th most difficult regional by aggregate RPI. Auburn has the easiest. Imagine that.
I truly do not understand anything about the way the committee has looked at Auburn. No where close to the second best team in their conference but has consistently been viewed as such.
UCLA proved and earned their spot through conf play and their tournament. As did GT and UGa.
I wish Oregon State or Oklahoma State would have been with them.
And RPI has Tennessee much lower than a lot of the predictive metrics do. When you look at those, it gets much more difficult.
Color me shocked that the same <removed, don't circumvent the language filter> that don’t understand that the home team at the home site should always bat last eff up seeding. I mean…..

You rather have ECU and Tenn than Kentucky and Wake Forest? I thought I heard someone say that Kentucky got in by the skin of their teeth, but I could be wrong. You follow college baseball alot closer than me so I'll take your word for it. I'm assuming you agree that getting VCU was worse than them getting Binghampton?
Yeah getting VCU is the worst thing about this regional. And WF may be the most talented team that isn’t hosting. They have 4 guys who can start games they are just flat out talented. Kentucky won the series against UT. Wouldn’t surprise me if Wake wins that regional.
The last two regionals we’ve had were tougher than this one imo. LSU was a team talented enough to win the whole thing that year, OU last year had 3 professional type arms. ECU has one and UT has one. We were more talented than OU the same way we are UT and ECU. But, that LSU team had more talent than maybe anyone in the country.

The politics of tournament selection is always an issue. In this case, UNC needs to survive a weekend tournament both this coming weekend and next to get to Omaha.
None of next weekend's opponents are close to Georgia Tech. Looking forward to it!
