UNC Finishes One Win Shy of National Title Repeat, Falls 14-11 to Northwestern
In a rematch of last season's national championship game, North Carolina lost at top-seeded Northwestern on Sunday.
Officials are like they are in basketball, think they have to “let them play,” but then decide not to inconsistently. It’s awful. They called flops fouls both ways but NW flops a lot more. Thy called zero cross-checks/pushes inside the 8m except for 1 of Kate Levy’s drives. The called only 1 3/second calls of many possible. They decided well on some NW charges met with equal pressure NOT to call a foul. But the goal reversals were crazy, especially on Godine.Someone explain how a defender can cross check you while you’re shooting the ball but you aren’t allowed to make contact with your elbow on them?
Its almost physically impossible for that to not happen.
Was about to ask, what did the coach have to say. Thanks. We were hosed.Levy's full quote from being asked about the overturned goals:
"The time that the goals go in, you go up by three. Big momentum shift. Same thing with the other one. I thought it was a tying goal, exciting for the fans. Haven't looked at the video or the film but seems to me that we have a lot of work to do with our game. I think it's unfortunate. I think, yeah, I don't know what -- they didn't give us an explanation on what it was. We clearly saw on our iPads what it was.
"So we probably disagreed with that. But I thought those were momentum-changing decisions and I thought our team had to kind of battle through that and we didn't do as well as we could battling through that so. Just unfortunate. I haven't really looked at the film, so I can't really comment."
That's how you say the officiating was ******** without saying the officiating was ********.Levy's full quote from being asked about the overturned goals:

Chloe did win MOP of the tourney and that surprised me given NW’s win so it’ll be interesting to see how T Award turns out.Well, the media world is very excited that their team won which was NW. They have been getting calls to go their way throughout the season; especially against us and Maryland. That made sure that NW won those games by a lack of no calls. I do not mind losing, but when you have that many no calls which clearly affected the outcome of the game, that is plain bias or neglect in my book. Well, we know who is going to get the Tewaaraton Award this coming Thursday. They are going to give it to MT, although CH made history again this year by tying MT for the most goals every scored in a single season in women's college lacrosse. CH and the entire UNC lacrosse team we are so proud of you. Hold you heads up high, we are saw how the officials robbed you of this title game with the bogus calls they were making. To Chloe, if you do not win the Tewaaraton Award, do not worry because in our hearts and mind we know that you are the best player in women's college lacrosse this year although there are some folks who want Madison Taylor to get the award which is another bias towards you and our team. We are proud of you, the entire team, the coaches and staff. Go Heels!
