If we beat you again this year.

I believe this transfer was the best case scenario for all involved….. I am just waiting on the summer to run its course so that I can see the Chargers final roster. The Crest game is a ways off but we definitely look forward to coming over to Sid Bryson this season.

The freshman at Kings Mtn probably had no plans on playing jv or sitting 2 years. He'll take his lumps. But i can see it working out across the board. Im just glad he didnt transfer to Cramer or Burns lol

It’s not that at all. In reality, the biggest thing is, you have to look at who else would be playing that same position and barring injury, would you start. Of course the incoming freshman hasn't played a full varsity schedule, but power 4 schools dont offer you when you are in the 7th grade on a hunch and you continue to dominate camps against older competitors.
You never want to put that kind of pressure on a kid but he is an insanely talented young man. I was literally blown away went I seen him throwing the ball in a 7v7. Our previous qb seen it too.

Excellent baseball addition too. I'm still amazed at the number of people that get tore up about transfers. Only when it comes to sports, especially football, we get a bunch of pearl clutching. If a kid was moving for drama, FFA, computer, whatever...not a peep. Who are we to tell someone what's best for them. Do you do the same thing with a job? You make decisions on what you think is best. It may be playing time, new environment, family has moved, or just straight ring chasing. At the end of the day it's their decision.
He is a good basketball player also. Baseball is his favorite sport however.

He is too good to sit. We lucked out because he and his family were already living in KM but commuting to his private school. This kid is the real deal.
Burns has a really good freshman qb coming in but not sure if he will play varsity his first year.

Wasn’t no recruiting here but the Brand and State Championship make kids want to be a 🐎
I don’t have ties to these two schools or any CC school for that matter. But to say there’s no recruiting going on is laughable. Yeah the school winning helps but coaches being in some kids/parents ears also happens. Know it for a fact. Go brag after winning with half of a team that wasn’t there last year or two years ago. It kills me how teams can’t win with what they have.

It should be good bro. I know you all have a ton over that way. Gonna be a tall task. Either way.

Best scenario?? Don’t work and get better. The final roster will look like a college roster. This kid transferred from here, this kid transferred from here.

I know you guys have the Bradley kid and I kind of thought that’s the direction you would go especially since Melton got offered at receiver. The Chargers will have to smooth that out internally. All of us know that Crest is committed to putting a good product on the field year in and out. Got to respect that. I have heard some rumblings about you guys getting a couple from Gaffney too, I hope not 😂.
Coach Lloyd has a good idea about the talent in the county and he has stated that KM and Crest will battle the next four years lol. I believe he may have even touched on that very topic on his last Crest coaches show.

That’s all that’s on here from any crest poster, bragging. Work hard and get your kids better, then brag. I guess you are working hard, recruiting.
Couple issues here.

One is that had he picked Ashbrook or Huss and you’d be busy staring at your feet.

Second is that maybe a kid with college ambitions shouldn’t just give up on that because someone with talent decided to transfer in.

Cry more.

Wondered if some Gaffney talent would walk across the line with new DL coach.

I definitely do not want to step between a good bar room brawl over transfers with NCFB73 and the Crest knuckle draggers. Get your licks in sir lol. I am not taking sides but @NCFB73 are you not a JM Robinson fan? As a JM Robinson fan how can you complain about transfers? JM Robinson has and continue to benefit from talent transferring in the past several years.

Great pickup for Crest. An uber talented kid. Didn’t think he would end up at another CC school but again congratulations to the champs for landing a super talented kid.

In CabCo NCHS actually has the most transfers. They lost a couple but just added a couple studs.

Are you referencing Northwest Cabarrus? I’ve been hearing that NWCHS have been losing players this offseason along with Mt. Pleasant High School. I know Cannon has picked up a couple along with Weddington and JM.

Yes they lost a RB and there is another big name leaving but they had a OL and WR transfer in. There was also a couple MC kids seen on their field.

I have said it a million times over the last 20 years. I hate transfers that are sports related. I always will. It is ruining the game. High school coaches will tell you that themselves because of the way college has the portal now. It is the unfortunate way of life now though. When it is football related it is a much bigger deal because of how big football is here. If it is done legally so be it.

I would be a hypocrite to say that Burns has not benefited from it outside of football. Our baseball roster is not only homegrown kids. One came from KM. It is here and is not going anywhere. Getting on here doesn't change anything. Anyone with half a brain and eyes during spring ball could tell you Crest was getting a QB from outside the school. Once Melton locked in on receiver it was a done deal. Melton will have a hell of a year. I heard talk about Bell coming but was not sure whether it would happen but the KM faithful are not too mad about it. There is not much uproar from them and most seem completely fine with it. I am "guessing" it was a welcomed departure.

Heard talk Bell was gone for the last 3-4 months, however I was told that it would be outside of Cleveland County (better get new sources 😂😂). Again it sounds like a win for both KM (quietly or maybe not so quietly wanted this) and Crest (needed to replace a very good QB).

Melton would have played QB. He didn't want to from what I heard but he would have and planned to do so.

I have said for along time do away with the transfer rule , open enrollment . Go where you and your family think is best for whatever reason.
Of course you would have schools and fans complaining about that too. It’s a part of life now , either adjust or get left behind complaining about it. Once this transfer door opened years ago there is no going back to home grown teams.
We spend way too much time complaint about transfers , families make decisions based on the best for them and their kids. Some wanting home grown or claim they have home grown teams don’t
Almost every school has transfers. Accept it and move on.

Most people that complain pull for teams that did not adjust to the changing times and so they hate on those of us who did adapt.

It's not our fault that YOU SUCK!!!

Melton would have played QB. He didn't want to from what I heard but he would have and planned to do so.
Maybe if Crest had no choice but to go to Melton. First dibs for qb was Bradley because Melton didn’t want to spend his senior season learning a new offensive system.
