We are in the Final 4 or at least knocking on the door every season and we are bellyaching over recruiting?
I don't know about these refs. They let some serious contact from UNC earlier in the game slide and then upheld a yellow card against the 'Cats for what looked like very incidental contact. They just called another foul during the power play for a UNC player who was falling down on her own.
Never mind calling a yellow on NU for dangerous shot and then taking away UNC’s goal, which was admittedly a horrible makeup call.
It's not a makeup call if it was correct by the rules. KAH had to use a challenge to get them to look at it. It does seem kind of silly that a goal can be waved off for something that happens after the goal.
Now I disagree with overturning THAT goal, and issuing a yellow card at that. UNC fans are right to be upset. The refs let so much contact slide early, so I don't get the calls in the 2nd half.
I wonder if switching goalies at the half was a mistake for UNC. Their goalie in the 1st half was on fire in the 2nd quarter when the 'Cats couldn't get anything going.
Can’t shoot with a defender right on you - that’s dangerous and deserved to be called even if limited contact. It’s another example of why they call shooting space and card you if you hit a player with a shot.
Good to know. I still think she also should have been MVP over Humphrey since NU won the tournament, and Humphrey only had 2 goals in the final.
I believe that Maddy Taylor is the best player in the country. When the NC defense focused on her to prevent her from scoring she consistently put her teammates in position to score. NU won the game because they played better as a team. Also, I believe the 'Cats have the best coach in the country. KAH is able to consistently adapt when the going gets tough, and she almost never loses an overtime game. It would not shock me in the least if the 'Cats won it all again next season.
