This season has did alot of really good things in my life. My daughter has never really been a baseball fan and neither are my wife or other daughter. Well, since applying to and being admitted as an incoming freshman my youngest daughter has been all about every sport with baseball actually becoming her favorite. We have been able to attend several games this year and have watched almost all of them together. It’s been really special considering she will heading off to UNC in the fall. This baseball season has given me extra time with her. That’s priceless. Today at her graduation party she kept asking me about the score as I was keeping up with the game thread on here.

My youngest daughter (just finished her sophomore year at UNC) and I had a similar experience. She’s always been a huge Tar Heel sports fan, but didn’t really get into UNC baseball until her senior year in high school. One of my favorite memories was when she and I went to the elimination game against LSU in 2024. Now, she knows as much (or more) about the Diamond Heels as anyone! For those with younger children, pause and enjoy every moment like this that you can … they grow up fast!

Once baseball gets its hooks in, it’s a life long passion. Great story!

As a young woman who loves baseball, rock on, I've watched baseball at important events as well (the 2024 extra-inning Wake Forest ACC Tournament game during my little brother's HS graduation). This is why Tommy and I do our job, so everyone can watch and know about what a fabulous sport baseball is and the program UNC has. This makes me so happy, congrats to her on UNC, she'll love it.

This is one of the true gifts that sports offer. You don't expect something like that, but it's gold when it happens.

I love this and can relate. My daughter made many 4 hour round trips to Chapel Hill with me while growing up. She made her last trip with me while pregnant with my almost 8 year old granddaughter. We had the best seats in the house that day.

Once when I was living in Duplin County, she “conned” me into picking her up in Greenville for a fall scrimmage game I was lukewarm on going to. She got me when she said, “Dad, you know you won’t see live baseball until February.” I conceded and she followed with, “And you’re going to swing by Greenville to pick me up.”

I had no chance. 😂
