#14 seed matched up with #3 Georgia. ON3 had us hosting at #15 matched up with #2 Georgia Tech.

Updated D1 Baseball bracket should be available in a few minutes.

We need Auburn to beat Arkansas today. BA & ON3 have 7 SEC hosts. It will be tough for the committee to give the SEC 8, so UPIG needs to stay as a #2 on the road. The traitor (the one that went to Flarda, not the IB) could redeem himself a little by doin some work for us in Indianapolis.

I think we're gonna be a host, but I feel strongly we're gonna get paired with Georgia Tech in a possible Super and have a strong 2 seed in Starkville. I'm not optimistic on our CWS prospects. UCLA and Georgia Tech are the last two teams I wanna play.

We match up fine with Georgia. 4 close games against them. We just haven't done the little things to beat them. Kinda like all our series with good teams. Nobody has dominated us, but we ain't winning the series.

Georgia Tech feels like they could dominate us.

You can watch them deliberate this seeding **** in videos (watched by dozens of people) on YouTube. It reminds me of watching women debate handbags. They are all over the place.

I'll say this. If the decision makers don't look closely at the Quad 1 games we will get screwed. A team like Kansas has an impressive record against Quad 1, but if you drill down you see they've played a grand total of 5 games against Top 16 RPI teams. We've played 19.

Having Q1, Q2 etc is a freaking joke. We’re 9-14 but the lowest ranked Q1 team we played was 21 Arkansas. #60 Arkansas St who went 12-18 in the Sunbelt can also be a Q1 game. WT actual F???

D1 is clueless, and is just fishing for clicks.

Arkansas has no business hosting. They’re outside the RPI Top 20 and have 5 losses to Q3/Q4. They also have a worse overall record than we do…..AND they’ve played a weaker schedule.

Their resume looks exactly like ours did 2 years ago when we got passed over in favor of East Carolina and a few other teams. Lots of Quad 1 wins, but some bad losses too, and the exact same record in SEC play.

Yeah you don’t want Arkansas and Oregon continuing to win in their league tourneys the next two days…. There is a scenario where we are the 2 seed in Lawrence or Morgantown that’s very much still on the table.

D1 is the worst and I hate the NCAA uses their poll. None of them are perfect but they are the ultimate "cater to the hottest team" site. They don't know what to do with LSU out of it. I'm surprised they aren't sneakning the tiggers in as a 3 seed somewhere just for clicks and giggles.

D1 has its flaws but they are the top college baseball site out there by a country mile. Nobody invests more in coverage and content than they do. I’m not the biggest Kendall Rogers fan but they have a number of sharp baseball writers that know the sport and understand the process as well as anyone.

Would be good for Southern Miss to lose to Troy today, which would drop them below us in RPI and move us up to #12.

Oregon is probably already hosting. 1 out of the 2 Oregon schools (but not both) is definitely hosting, the other is going to be a #2 in the host’s regional. That regional will then be paired against the UCLA regional.

I don’t think Oregon or Arkansas have any bearing on our hosting outcome whatsoever.

Nope. Only CWS pre-Polk was 1971. We beat Miami & GA tech at Gastonia NC. Back then regional were strictly regional. We wouldn’t have gone out west at all. We did beat CSF in 1st round of 79 CWS. We didn’t win another game, they came back from losers bracket to win the championship.

UCLA and UGA are pretty similar. UCLA's pitching may be a little deeper, but if you put a gun to my head and made me choose the CWS Final's teams, I would have to say UCLA vs UGA will be your finals. And I think the Bruins get their 2nd Title.

If we are going to be 14-16 type seed just give me the 16. If you beat them you have the 1 seed’s path the rest of the way.

I don’t care about paths or seeding. Just host and let it play out. If we can get McPherson back & good for 6-7 innings we’ll be a tough opponent in a super for anyone.

Then you must think we’re gonna be a 2 seed because i think Oregon and Arkansas matter more than anyone else for us.

I was probably remembering the 79 world series game. I do remember regionals being in Gastonia for multiple years. Seems like it was always our goal to get to Gastonia. That was all a long time ago…….

I’m sure that’s what you’re remembering. Interestingly, Starkville also hosted a lot of those old neutral site regionals. Well before my time.
