Wow! Just wow! Congrats Lady Dogs! Just defeated the all time winning softball program in this country.

Hey Oklahoma we have a pretty good coach and team.

Tried the "move positions" trick. Moved to the outside spot in the 6th and we tied it up unbelievably but came back inside to watch it while following along with you guys on the laptop. That didn't work after the 3 run bomb so thought I'd see if outside still had any magic left and never left. It did and then some (and so it seems, broccoli)

What an entertaining game. UFB

The home plate umpire is a perfect example why ABS is needed in baseball and softball asap. Not saying everyone is out to get us or that he was attempting to be biased…. But a potentially crooked biased individual or an incompetent one shouldn’t be determining these outcomes.

Peja has unbelievable spin and movement but I personally would NOT pitch her over Faircloth after last weekend’s results. I trust that Coach Ricketts knows what our best shot at this would be. Both will get a chance at it.
As it turns out, both pitched in Game 1 and neither was our best pitcher today. Either one could start tomorrow.

  • Crash Davis: I told him that a player on a streak has to respect the streak.
  • Annie Savoy: Oh fine.
  • Crash Davis: You know why? Because they don't - -they don't happen very often.
  • Annie Savoy: Right.
  • Crash Davis: If you believe you're playing well because you're getting laid, or because you're not getting laid, or because you wear women's underwear, then you *are*! And you should know that!
Or dancing with broccoli. Whatever works - keep doing it.

Man. This was the kind of games teams like Oklahoma win every time. Top national powerhouse playing the team that’s never win in this stage (& only even been there once). Underdog has some chances early but can’t score. Then big inning & 6-1 lead. Any other team would have folded. Huge to fight back twice in that stage

now who do you pitch tomorrow? I think I might go with Goold & #17 in relief & save a fresh Faircloth for a potential game 3.

I’d roll with Peja like you said. Faircloth going game 3, if needed. That’s just what I’d do but I know for a fact I don’t know as much about softball as Coach Ricketts does.

Faircloth can be dominant and probably has all the nervous jitters out. She didn’t throw many pitches and can maybe pitch 2 more games if needed. Tough call.

I hate I missed that I had to go to the doctor. I'll be front and center tomorrow. They have the best team we have right now. They do not quit. I'm so proud of them. When I left, they had tied up 6-6.

Peja starts tomorrow, IMO. She only saw three hitters.

The unexpected is how well we hit their pitching. 15 hits, wow. We chased their ace and smoked their No. 2 and No. 3.

We will probably see Lowry tomorrow (their last pitcher today). She gave up 6 earned in 1 1/3.

We have to cut down on the walks. That's how their home run hitters kill you. A solo shot doesn't matter as much as a 3-run shot and they got two of them (plus another 2-run HR) aided by walks and errors today.

We will be the home team on the scoreboard tomorrow, so Peja needs a clean first inning. After the first three in their line up, they were 6-for-23. Their 1-2-3 hitters had 7 hits and Wells had 6 RBIs by herself. Can't give up crooked numbers. We need win a 5-4 type game tomorrow.

For those new to softball, we will not face a lineup like this ever again. Texas Tech in the WCWS will look like a Little League team against our pitching. Gasso built this team to break HR records and just doesn't have the elite pitching to compliment it. OU's starter today was at Ole Miss last year. We'll see her again in a Game 3 situation.

Agree with most of what you said. OU lineup is clearly next level. Texas tech has a lot of HR hitters too up and down the lineup and UCLA believe it or not has more HRs this year than OU.

OU definitely on another planet in terms of lineup power but there’s other extremely formidable teams as well on that front.

MSU pitchers are extremely solid but they don’t overpower anyone. We gotta keep bats going to have chance to win it all.

We will probably get beat. OU is in a league of their own. Their hitters vs msu hitters are like night and day. OU hitters focus solely on gym and exit velocity and it shows. Their hitters legs are like tree trunks. Incredibly talented team at the plate. We have NOTHING like them from a hitting standpoint. We do, however, have two starting pitchers that give us a fighting chance. When they’re on we can plate 2-3 runs and be VERY tough to beat. This is Oklahoma though. Definitely worth a watch imo but I love softball.

If you want to break it down like baseball (they are similar sports) picture an entire lineup of Ace Reese type hitters that are massive that’s pretty much OU softball. We have some Bryce chance type hitters and two not overpowering but at times extremely effective pitchers.
Are we talking about the Bryce Chance that hit into two double-plays yesterday in Hoover?

And this is why you can’t just walk the girl in poster is saying we have to walk. Yeah she burned us twice but we got the popup when it counted. If she’s in our lineup, yeah walk her. But in their lineup all you’re doing is bringing up another hitter just as good with more runners on base. That said, their pitching gives us a chance. Still gonna be hard to take 1 of the next 2. But I like our chances with an all American pitching tomorrow & a rested Faircloth Sunday if necessary.
