From Brick, Ocean County, that's about 2.5 hours each way, including driving to Metro Park (50 mins), train to Penn St (50 mins), Subway (25 mins), add 20 mins for walking and transfers.

Barclays is ridiculously easy to get to. Short subway ride from Penn Station. Much easier than Citi Field or Yankee Stadium

The date they are working to get is Feb 6.

MSG has the KNICKS, Rangers and concerts. It’s hard to book the venue.

Yeah - it’s a pain for sure. I’d much rather the game be at the Pru if not MSG, especially since we’re not playing SHU there this year so it provides fan in north state an opportunity to get to a closer game.

But that said - I’d still rather be playing Syracuse in Brooklyn than not schedule another real game at all or schedule something not within driving distance period at some obscure distant venue against a Temple type which is what we’ve done in the past.

According to Google Maps, it takes 54 minutes to get from the New Brunswick train station to Madison Square Garden on a Saturday afternoon. It takes 1 hour 29 minutes to get to Barclays Center. So that means a game in Brooklyn adds >1 hour in travel time, round trip, vs MSG. That's enough to get most people to think twice about making the trip.

I could almost guarantee I would attend a game at MSG. There is less than 50% chance I go to Brooklyn. It really depends on the ticket cost and the timing of the game. If it is a noon game or 8 pm game, and decent tickets are more than $100, there is less than 10% chance I go.

Yeah it’s crappy. And parking just as expensive as Manhattan it not more plus the restaurants over there not as appealing for a night or day out. I still view it as a positive that this game was scheduled though. Pike has to be feeling pretty good about the roster he’s built. Last year for non-conference, we only scheduled home cupcakes outside of SHU and Vegas.

Last games there played #4 UVA in first B1G year and lost in front of like 200 fans. Next game we played Fordham there and won in front of about 400 fans. This game will draw similar to Princeton at Cure arena, about 4-5000 fans. Will be 60-40 RU.

Promoter of Rutgers-Syracuse probably aims to sell out the lower bowl at Barclays. This makes for a nice fan experience when the arena people make the empty upper bowl disappear. Happened at last season's Seton Hall-Rutgers game in Newark. Prudential Center felt full.

If Rutgers and Syracuse are undefeated and ranked heading into the game, throw open the upper bowl.

Despite what you may have read in the last two days Feb 6 is NOT confirmed. The Nets and NBA get first crack and the preliminary schedule has a Nets home game that evening.

The plan for this game to be played on Feb. 6th we've been told, I know the Nets have a game at night that day, but shouldn't effect it.

I know you have sources but as you can see up above I posted way back in May that Feb 6 was the target date. That should confirm for you that I have good info. The date is still not set in stone.
