Four full seasons define you. At least at NU, and most other programs. NU is hardly the only school to pull the plug on a staff after 3 or 4 seasons. It either works, or it doesn't. Ruhle put himself behind the 8 ball by having two seasons implode. You realize most schools now schedule for 8 or 9 wins to maintain the appearance of competent leadership. You can go back and look at all three of Ruhle's seasons here and identify games we should have won. Simply add one win, to those three seasons and the tone would be different now. NIL is only a part of the story. Very few players arrive ready to play in the B1G. You have to develop them. Bottom line, If your record is .500 or worse after four years here, your not going to make it. Losing Eckler IMHO was the moment that told me this is headed the wrong way. ST kept us in games, won a game for us, and if we go backward in that aspect of the game then its a done deal.
