They split right?
They did, yes. But if the argument is going to be Pope beat Barnes, Few, Golden, etc, then it should be acknowledged that all those guys beat him back (in brutal fashion I might add).

Scheyer and Pitino are the only ones on that list that have not beaten Pope.

so that's his best win?

Kentucky is the highlight of his coaching career? Either you are saying Pope is a great coach or he has never beaten a great coach
A guy who's career highlight is a S16 is not a great coach. Neither is Kelsey. What are you even trying to argue?

Where do I start? How about, UofL has at least 4-5 players already, that cost them each as much or more, than UK’s highest paid player (Moreno), should tell you everything you need to know about UK’s NIL situation, and if UofL wants Milan, then they will have Milan!

With MM, UofL is one of the top 3 teams in the country, if not #1, and with UK landing him (and Moreno), they might be fringe top 25…

If you are Momcilovic, you are picking the contender, all day every day!

Plus, Pope has yet (in 3 years) to win one of these high profile recruitments, so anyone smoking that Hopium, better just put down the pipe and prepare yourself for the inevitable.
Spoken like a true U or L fan!

Did Kelsea ever beat any of those coaches?

If you take injury's in to it, not a bad resume beating future HOF coach's, Pope will probably not have trouble getting another job, when he gets ran out of Kentucky. He is far from great, but has beaten the greats.I hope he turns out this season to be great, and shuts us all up.

Louisville is the "hot" program at the moment and Kesley knows how to sell kids and can relate to them. Louisville is top 15 pre-season and is a contender. Not sure we'll ever crack the top 25 all year. Mom said he wants to play for a contender. I guess Pope can drop off $10 mil at his house, but that's what it'll take. It doesn't hurt Kelsey is having a lottery pick next month.

You have fans of one of the top programs in the country scared to death of Louisville beating them. That kind of tells you the trajectory. No coach in the country is scared of us.

This program is just going to struggle to land anyone of worth until Pope is gone. We just need to accept it.
Kelsey is an odd little man with little man syndrome. He will regress over time. Unfortunately, Pope is rather off himself so it will be interesting to see how this goes. It would be soooo easy to recruit against either of these moronic misfits.

Kelsey seems to be recruiting all right.

If Kentucky actually lets Louisville land Momcilovic, your blue‑blood card isn’t just suspended….it’s being reviewed by the committee. And trust me, Duke chairs that committee. We take these things very seriously!

None of us wants to see Louisville win the ACC…right! Go get this done…PLEASE!
Duke doesn’t control our blue -blood status pal.

I mean… this is the part where Duke fans genuinely have to laugh. Louisville supposedly “broke the NIL bank,” yet somehow they’re STILL outbidding Kentucky for Momcilovic? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

From the outside, it almost looks like Kentucky fans are secretly funding Louisville’s NIL just to speed-run their own coaching change. And honestly, with how many Kentucky fans live in Louisville, it’s not the wildest theory I’ve heard this week.
lol. I appreciate you posting this. It’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever read here! I thought that was impossible because of the dumb stuff we’ve saw, but against all odds , here you are! You’re the new champion of dumb, take a bow and a hike!

Momcilovic would be a very unneeded luxury for Duke, not a lifeline. We don’t build our entire offseason around hoping one guy saves us from a meltdown. We don’t panic‑shop the portal, beg a 1st rounder to come back or go “all or nothing” on a 17 year old….to save a season.

Why? Because we are Duke…and Duke isn’t in the desperation business.
I must be missing something, because I see a Duke guy coming on UK’s page showing how scared you guys are of our little brother.

Louisville will present the blank check game over.Pope will present the beautiful possible journey that playing for the name on the front of the jersey provides.Recruit and agent leave immediately to cash the big check at the bank.Wash, rinse , and repeat.

Diallo > Shelstad. look at their head to head numbers and video of their scrimmage recently

Wilkins = Wooley

Moreno > Flory. both in the combine and Moreno projected higher than Flory

SF/PF pretty equal players

Hawthorne, Williams , NDiaye all have NBA potential. vs Fulgarios and Knox

I don't see how anyone can objectively state UofL has a better roster. They look pretty even, and so far Pope has been the better coach than PK

look how many Quad 1a
victories Pope has compared to PK

hint, PK has zero

how many good coaches has PK beaten?
Pope has beaten Cal, Pitino, Few, Scheyer, Golden, Barnes
You left out Ekezie and Zhang as power forwards for Louisville,7’1 Ekezie rated the 8th best player by ESPN in Hs and Zhang a top 50 Hs player at 6’8 and 220 pounds

I also left out:
McBride 6'8 230 PF that shoots 40 percent from three
Kepnang 6'11 255 C, 30 year old super senior that is an elite shot blocker
Noah who can play the 4 and has potential to shoot 40 percent from three

I would take those three over 2 High School kids

You may as well not even factor Noah into anything other than practice player. He has proven he isn’t going to be a high level contributor here so far and that’s it. I was hoping he would develop and really start to come on but he doesn’t drive the ball, and his best attribute is nullified by face guarding him 30 feet from the basket. Even when he gets a look he doesn’t knock it down because he looks scared. I really hope he becomes the player we all thought he may be this year, I want him to crush it.

Yeah, cause players never make strides during their careers

Also, he had some really good moments his Freshman year. Probably the main reason we didn't lose to Tennessee at Tennessee
Of course they do, but he hasn’t really shown much to predict he will ever shoot 40% here during games.

Duke chairs that committee lol. You wouldn't even be on that committee if it weren't for the true blue bloods inviting you.
If Duke chairs the committee then he comes to UK. Duke, in the same conference as Louisville, doesn’t want them any better than they already are.

What is your definition of high level contributor? There’s a WHOLE lot in between that and practice player.

It’s a mistake to judge any of the players on last year’s mess of a team. I think he’ll settle in and be a great shooter.

If teams are going to face guard him 30 feet from the basket next year, start him every game and let Zoom and Wilkins cook without the help defender.

Two things. How in the world does Louisville have more millions to spend? Second, how do they have room for another major player?
Just my two cents, but I think for a lot of schools, their NIL is going ebb and flow from year to year. Just look at UK right now. By many accounts we spent a boatload of cash last season, didn't have the expected results, and now probably aren't working with as much NIL this season. Not sure what ul spent last season, but they probably were decent enough, in their fan's eyes, and have gone all in on throwing money Kelsey's way. If he doesn't perform this coming season, he will probably be working with much less the following the season.

A school like duke will probably not be hurting for money in bball, a school like osu will probably not be hurting for money for football; but I feel like most schools will go through various swings of throwing crazy money around to then having to be on a tighter budget.
