He could be a valuable guy on a roster. He should learn how to long snap and learn the whole offense as if he were going to play QB as well as TE. As you point out, roster spots are limited. A guy who could be your emergency QB who already knows the offense could be valuable to have stashed on your practice squad. I guarantee you he could be better at QB than some of the guys who have bounced around on practice squads. My Vikes have started some AWFUL QBs who looked like they had never played the position due to njuries. Spurgeon Wynn was one guy I think. Haarberg would look like Fran Tarkenton compared to that guy.
Good for him, he still has to make the 53 player roster.
This just in it, he won’t be trying out at the QB position.
