Are you a sports fan or just a Husker sports fan?

Are you a sports fan in general? or just a husker sports fan?

This is not scientific, but what I am trying to figure out, is what percentage of the Husker fan base, are Not sports fans in general.

Personal take.. I don't watch sports very often, only Husker football. I guess you could put Husker Volleyball or any other Husker sport in there, but if it's not husker related, and it's sports content, I'm not really interested in watching it.

Never really been a sports fan, other than Husker football. Native, born in Omaha, and that's probably why, but I'm just curious how many others are fans via cultural influence and not through a love of sports in general.

There are a lot of fans who are just fans of one team, usually in just one sport. In my experience, they are some of the dumbest, most narrow minded, uneducated, need to get out more, don't have a f*cking clue, fans on earth. They don't know sh*t about sh*t and they just ooze ignorance. They're also usually the biggest, blindest, dumbest homers/sunshine pumpers/apologists ever, yet they always present themselves as the biggest experts. Seriously some of the worst types of fans out there. The type of fans you just want to punch in the dick every time they open their dumb mouths, or type stuff in this case.

Anyway, I didn't vote because I fall into neither of the very extreme categories in the poll.

I’m a die hard Husker through and through.

Huge College Football and Basketball fans and luv watching other games and I make small wagers on them, luv the NFL, watch NBA playoffs at times.

Rather watch and follow Husker baseball than the major leagues even though I’ve been a Twins fan and follow ex-Nebraska players like Jake Meyers, Brice Mattews, Cade Popvich, Aaron Bummer and Spencer Schwellenbach

This is clearly a lie

you root for Nebraskans and Huskers to fail, as evidenced by your posting history

As I get closer to 40 the less and less I care about other sports, I used to have MLB TV and the NFL equivalent back in the day for the St Louis Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers but over the last decade I hardly pay attention to who's even on the rosters anymore. Most the time I only catch headlines about any of the pro sports and I'll glance at who's in the playoffs each year and that's about it.

I ingest as much sports news as possible, watching Sportsman Conduct on ESPN every morning (Michelle Smallmon is a babe) and the Herd over lunch, and football College and pro as much as I can on the weekends....Love March Madness, couldn't ay me to watch CBB before the tourney though... So yeah, I'm all in on sports. Hell I'll even watch a Nascar race if I catch the last 10-15 laps. DGAF about baseball, but I find watching an inning or two at the bar to be a great way to pass away the time.

Husker fan first. College baseball during the CWS. Basketball during March Madness. NFL only for pro sports. Haven't watched the NBA since Jordan. No MLB, NBA OR NHL. I'll watch 4 hours of the NFL draft before watching that crybaby b!tch Lebron flop in a Lakers game. NBA is a joke compared to what it was in the 80's and 90's.

Just my accurate and truthful observation. You might just be a perfect example. Aren't you the guy who thinks Colandrea will be the savior of Nebraska football this year? That prediction is likely based on the fact that you only watch Nebraska so you have very little knowledge of how the rest of the college football world actually works. Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right. But if you are, it's not because of your football knowledge as your prediction is based solely on all the things I mentioned.

Im a huge College Football fan. I watch as many games as I possibly can. I am also a huge Husker fan and I'm just waiting for the day when I can look forward to watching them on Saturday again. As of right now though, watching the Husker game is one of the worst games I watch every week. The last three games were an embarrassment.

Looking forward to smart, physical, disciplined football in the future but unfortunately, MR instills none of the qualities into our program.

lmao.. you don't know what my prediction is based on, nor much else.. My prediction is based solely on contrarian theory. Everyone and their mother, looked at the schedule and said OMG, we are going to not win a single game. If you have been on this planet over a certain number of years, you start to learn some things. I think we are going to have a great football team precisely because everyone else says we won't. If someone asks me how is that going to happen? I'm going to tell you Colandrea and the new Offensive Line. And I am enough of a prick to say that Colandrea is going to drag Nebraska to the playoffs whether we like it or not. This is one of the very few times, I get to be positive, as a contrarian, so you're not going to change me this year. Most years, I'm the one bitching about every little thing, and trust me, you don't want that either.

CWS is great but more for the atmosphere. I love getting downtown to drink and see friends. I even will check out the hotties that are half my age.

If they are wearing a Husker jersey I am immediately more interested. Cant wait for Softball Thursday and then both softball and baseball Friday. I never watch the NBA until this time of the season and the last 2 nights have been very entertaining. I love almost all sports but hard pass on WNBA. Champions League final, pro/rel, and World Cup have my attention. Love the Cubs but they suck again and ownership runs them like they are a double a revenue team. Redskins fan since the days of Riggins. Honestly of all the sports I follow the only one that is a total letdown is Husker football

as an outsider, i do on occasion watch N football and hoops when something more pressing doesn't draw my eyes.

generally though, it's k-state and then b12 sports -football, wbb, mbb in that order. i could care less about iowa/wisconsin, bama/florida, fsu/clemson.

so yes, my views are targeted not general.

When I was a young lad back in the 70's I tried to watch most sports like college football, college basketball, NFL, NBA, and MLB. I never had any interest in hockey.

I could not stay interested in NBA, MLB, or college basketball and stop watching around 1980. I lost interest in the NFL about 1985. The only NFL game I watch now is the Super bowl.

College football was by far and away my favorite sport from the 70's until about 2005. The last college football championship game I watched was the USC vs Texas game. I have never watched a college football playoff game.

What I liked about college football was a season was like a puzzle. The pieces were not neatly packaged in a box, but needed to be ferreted out with each week's games to determine who would win the championship. The fun was watching teams go up and down in the polls as they try to earn an invitation to a bowl game. Bowl season was always fun and New Year's Day was like a Christmas. Further, the schools had identities. Some ran the ball with the wishbone or I formation, some passed the ball like BYU, some were known for defense. Today, I don't think any team has a unique identity. They are all the same. I don't care for the playoff system.

I have watched Nebraska football for over 50 years, but my interest has waned greatly over the last 20. The lack of identity and discipline in today's Nebraska football makes it hard to watch. Years ago I could name every player on the team, but today I could only name a few. I do not watch that many games now. In the last eight seasons in games that Nebraska has fallen behind by 9+ points the team has only come back and won twice.

My interest is still strong in teams from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's, but today's Nebraska football not so much.

I would rate myself a non sports fan and a casual at best Nebraska fan.

Well, it’s clear the majority of idiots on this board clearly don’t know anything about sports and you’ve all admitted it, which I’ll tip my cap to you.

The majority of you college football “fans” loved the sport from about 1972 until 1997.

The only sport outside of football that I watch other teams is basketball. And, that is usually only in March. I will watch NU baseball only if they are in the CWS. I do watch women's volleyball in the NCAA tourney. When Nebraska football loses I typically get so pissed that I don't care to watch other games that weekend, and that has been happening a lot lately. When I was younger, I couldn't get enough college football. Maybe it's an age thing? Or maybe it's just the fact that I can't name 3 players on most teams not NU anymore with NIL.

This doesn't sound all that strange really. This just sounds like a guy getting older.

One of my good friends died recently, he was old. But that is how he was too, just watched old games on YouTube and that was about it.

I think this is one of those things that I find out more often as I get older. People I work with just "sort of" watch the Husker game and hardly any other games. I always just thought that fans were watching games all Saturday.
the way I saw it was, the guys who were betting on the games, where the ones watching all the games like a hawk.. but this thread has shown me that there are a lot of shades in between the two.
