The lingering influence of the race riots in LA just a couple of years before the murder/trial and OJ's celebrity really set the stage for that outcome. Fuhrman gets a perjury sentence and OJ walks free despite all the evidence - crazy.
The most recent miscarriage of justice resembling the OJ trial was the Floyd prosecutions. The state withheld exculpatory video of the events immediately preceding Floyd’s death and ignored the toxicology reports. There undoubtedly was a racial motive in the level of charging and prosecution of all of those officers. Jurors feared for their safety if they didn’t convict.

It didn't help that most of it was filmed. **** that clearly "went away" 25 years ago is no longer a thing.

OJ was guilty as could be, Mark Furnam was a cop willing to lie on the stand and got caught.

No respect for cops that lie under oath.

That said, he paid his debt and moved on with his life. RIP

OJ though, got to walk away free. That was sad to see.

I mean, OJ did keep looking for the killer, he never found him, but he said he kept looking!

I was at the trial - what a circus. 2 feet from Johnny. I smiled because that dude was pure entertainer through and through. I went to both Bundy (her place) and Rockingham (his place). We drove from house to house in like 6-7 minutes. During the trial Johnny of course said it was impossible to drive all the way across the town from the murder scene (her place) to his own home and still get to the airport. Laughable.

My buddy and I drank a Sapporo beer that night because it was close to "Shapiro."

Marcia Clark is as responsible for that verdict as anyone.

Gotta give old scumbag johnny credit... he got his client off in a double murder because he was able to convince the dumbest jury ever assembled that using the N word 20 years before OJ beheaded his wife was a bigger deal.

There are levels - comparing those 2 on the scumbag scale is ridiculous. OJ
******* killed 2 people and spent the rest of his life lying out of his ***.

I never compared the two . I was just disagreeing with OP on our views of Furnam. You are right OJ committed double murder. Doesn’t change the fact that Furmam was a scumbag as a person.

The most experienced and best DA in the world was never Winning that case.
Perhaps... perhaps not. But her series of evidentiary, cross and rebuttal screw-ups were comical. Combine that with "expert" witnesses that were not properly vetted nor prepared is all on her. Failing to ask certain questions and dance around subjects on witness examinations was flat-out odd.

Her constant slobbering, emotional, babbling word puke was a big head scratcher. At the end of the day, she wasn't prepared for the spotlight and couldn't stay focused which damn near put her into a looney house. She was intimidated and that brought out her ineptitude.

Sorry, he should have got his knee off the guy's neck.
He was a scumbag too.
I think this is probably accurate. OJ is the killer and the cops bungled it enough for the jury to go rogue.

The cops bungled alot of things during the murder investigation and so did the prosecution (having Simpson try on the glove in the courtroom). The OJ jury was 75% black and the black community in LA at that time had essentially no trust in the police following the Rodney King situation and the race riots that followed the acquittal of the cops that beat him up which was caught on tape for the world to see. Fuhrman's perjury on the stand over the use of the N-word sealed the deal with that jury. No amount of evidence against OJ was going to overcome it at that point. The trial ended up being all about the credibility, or lack thereof, of the LA police and nothing about OJ's guilt. That's what made it so tragic for the families of the the two people murdered.
