With Mom-Vic , Kentucky is a contender especially if Moreno comes back.
I say we have a decent team without MM & MmVic, because we’ll have $7 million to spend on another piece or 2.

It’s all in Diallo and Wilkins, IMO. If these two are somehow better together than the sum of their talent, we could have a very respectable team.
Lance Dawe is a phony. He will take any situation and put a ridiculously positive spin on it. The dude has zero credibility. None.
He’s trying too hard to get clicks for sure. I could take that, but his Alllllriggggghhhttt every time kills me. Trying to be a character a not just being yourself is an automatic pass for me. I don’t know who is telling him that’s cool but they’re lying to him.
I agree with you about Momcilovic. We are maybe top 20 at the highest in my opinion with him. Preseason ranking anyway. Great chance to climb the rankings and prove everyone wrong.

No way in hell our current roster is 6-8 seed. Closer to a 13-18 record at the moment.
Lance Dawe is absolutely the last person in the media I would listen to. He’s terrible. Dude is only a Kentucky fan because his company picked him to cover Kentucky. Yes either super outraged and negative, or super positive. He goes with whatever narrative is being discussed on social media at the time he’s recording his show. Nothing against him personally (except the way he pronounces some of his words), but the guy is just awful as a podcaster.
Well, Iowa State’s entire team last season was marginally better than Pope’s team this upcoming season, and they fell short of being a contender, so I’m not sure how that translates

No. Pope has shown the world who he is as a coach. It’s crystal clear.
UK has not had a player problem under Pope. BYU did not have a player problem.

Some people on here would like to talk basketball, not read some idiot post like this.
My expectations are to support UK Sports no matter what. Would I rather have some staff & administration changes? YES. - But realistically Pope is our coach right now & has assembled a team that can win 25+ games next year . I personally like the resume of the players on the team & believe they will be fun to watch. I do totally dislike Pope’s style of substituting & demeanor on the sidelines. That said - I will support the team this year as I always have. GO KATS
I'd have a little more stock in your opinion if didn't adamantly say things like "Pope WILL be here for a long time" and all these other things we DO NOT KNOW. There's saying "this is my opinion" and then there's being dogmatic about things outside of our ability to back up or qualify. I've found people who exaggerate and/or make up things because they don't like the coach problematic (i.e. Pope isn't getting a third year --- was always BS). I find the sunshine pumping without respect to reality also problematic if we are dogmatic about unknowables. I hope Pope succeeds, personally, and I'll never not root on the Cats. That said, I'll not act like I know for a fact this or know for a fact that things that aren't confirmable or backed up by anything other than blind hope. Like you, but wish you'd soften on that stuff.

I looked it up. . . big win over Cal State--Northridge in front of 375 rabid Utah Valley fans before falling on the road to South Florida.
No quality recruit is coming to play for the biggest goofball head coach in college basketball as evidence by what guys that are currently on the team. Other SEC teams have guys coming off the bench that would be superstars here.
The current roster is not even remotely close to being ranked in the top 25 and easily 12th or worse in the SEC. The awful roster last year would smoke this one.
Bad roster with a bad coach equals another disaster of a season and getting blown out in the round of 32 again would be the ceiling for the team that Pope puts on the floor next year.
I've seen far less talented teams win titles.
Yeah, you have to have talent, but what type of talent are we talking about? NBA talent? No, that's not winning titles, those teams keep melting down against teams loaded with veteran talent that clicked at the right time.

I would love to see a season with no injuries just to see what happens. Seens like it's been forever.

I have demonstrated many times that could have been said of many coaches who went on to accomplish great things. Utah Valley ST just started playing college BB in 2005 and had a 55% winning percentage when Pope took over. BYU was a marginal program with sparse success who then stepped up to the Big 12 while Pope was there. He did a solid job at his first two fairly low opportunity stops.
