Hopefully, they have the pitching rotation sorted the way they want going into the SECT. If they do, that's the good news. The bad news is every pitcher is going to have to throw a perfect game to have chance at winning.

It seems like we gave up a ton of stolen bases this year. We also had a lot of passed balls and wild pitches.

They should just stand there with the bat on their shoulders and don't swing at anything. I'm willing to bet that gives us more base runners than trying to hit the ball.

Reminds me of when I'd hear the flip side of that from announcers during away games saying we weren't much of a threat at stealing bases.

That too. Plus, we didn't bat for average and didn't have much power in the lineup.

I could live with a lack of little power if we had traded it off for something like speed but we didn't even have that. Not sure what the goal was here when we put this team together. You'd think with the portal, we'd have a plan.

Remember the scene in Saving Private Ryan when the medic was dying?

He was crying for his mother and asking for morphine. Tom Hanks told one of the soldiers to give it to him. When asked how much, Hanks said, "All of it."

That kind of reminds me of where we are right now with our baseball program.
