Nobody thought our pitching talent would be elite. Lineup, yes, and it is.
Oh well I guess you don’t follow Aaron Fitt, Kendall Rogers, D1 baseball, or collegiate baseball, or Robbie and Hadad cause that’s all they talked about preseason. Our pitching riches.
These are the type of comments that I don’t understand. Why do we just make excuses for losers.

our pitching is in a place of purgatory right now. The only elite portal pitcher we brought in was Valincius and maybe Kirk would have turned into an upper tier pitcher had he not gotten hurt. Other than Webb, everyone else was a reach that we were hoping would improve with a new start. Some of them have been good in spots but none are very consistent, including Webb. Then, you have a bunch of freshmen that have to learn. Losing McPherson was a bigger blow than just losing him; it has led to some fatigued bullpen arms.

It’s a discussion board. If it was just a message board, the owner and monitors would say: “just stop by here for messages about the Bulldogs sports programs.” We wouldn’t have the opportunity to ***** about inadequate coaching and/or talent, correct each posters grammar, pump sunshine about crapping play from one group and criticize crappy play from the other group. I think some of you guys are way overreacting to the regular season.
This team could certainly make a run at Omaha (and in Omaha). I’m not expecting that but it’s certainly possible, especially if McPherson gets back to 100%.
It sure seems like we are about to host a regional, which should always be considered a successful season.
Regarding the pitching, it was always going to be the Achilles heel of this team. Honestly, it’s pretty young. A lot of it returns next year (assuming there is not mass exodus in the portal).
All of this is obviously not directed at the OP. I’ve just seen a lot of takes about how disappointing this season has been and I’m just not sure I agree with that or that’s it’s fair. If this team does not host or does not at least make a super, then yes it’s disappointing. Even with average pitching, we got enough talent to be in a super. But I’m definitely not disappointed with the coaching. I don’t think they’ve done a poor job this year.

Elite lineup?
-Ryder Woodson, far from elite w/ 12 errors not to mention the ones that Stallman dug out of the dirt or jumped for and saved him many more errors and he leads the team in KO's and has the fewest walks of the starters.
-Any catcher on the roster, not elite, only 12-45 throwing runners out stealing. Cost us many runs on passed balls and errors and a few games. Milewski struggled all season at the plate but did come on the last couple weeks but still only hit .215
-Aiden Teel, not elite, he had two drops Friday night alone and struggled at the plate all season.
-Nunnalee was a day 1 starter but was dropped from the lineup and eventually hit only .241
